BIG Brother babe Justine Sellman hugs tragic Hayley Hyman — just eight weeks before cancer killed her pal.

Now Justine, 27, has vowed to give the show’s £70,000 prize to a cancer charity if she wins.

She will follow first Big Brother winner Craig Phillips who gave his money to a Down’s Syndrome pal to have a life-saving op.

Justine and Hayley were pictured at the wedding of the housemate’s twin sister Louise last year. Hayley died two months later of a rare form of kidney cancer. She was just 26.

The twins had been pals with Hayley since primary school.

Justine was so devastated by her death she devoted her spare time to raising money for Cancer Research UK.

Her mum Lynne Craster revealed yesterday that Justine had already helped pull in £50,000.

Choking back tears Lynne, 53, of Leeds, said: “Hayley’s death is something Justine will never recover from. The girls were extraordinarily close.”

Pals also told how Justine piled on weight due to depression after Hayley’s death.

A friend said: “Justine has been to hell and back. She has been comfort eating. She has said that if she won Big Brother she would give all her money to the cancer charity.”

I've heard Justine speaking in the BB House about her friend who died from a rare form of cancer.

I just hope some cynical people don't think that this story has been released to boost Justine's chances of winning.

I heard Justine mention that she did some charity fund raising but she was extremely modest about her work and didn't go into any details. I agree with you Kaz, I'm sure some cynical people will think the story is just to boost her chances but I don't think it is at all.

I really like Justine and I hope she goes all the way.

This is a bit of a puzzle though, because I just found this on the Bigbrother4 website, which is puported to be from Justine's Friends reunited entry:

Justine

I am currently still living in Leeds, I do still see quite a lot of school friends in the pubs and still best mates with Hayley Hyman and Elissa Bilton!!! Not married with any brats yet, I still wear plenty of mascara and short skirts!!! Miss school like mad! Especially break time! 14/03/2002 13:23:21

I suppose that date could be when Friend Reunited last updated the page though.....

My sister has cast her hand against her and condemmed her utterly for setting the whole thing up and look at me I am so wonderful.

The cynics are out there, more cynical than me, if that were possible.

Are there other sources which say where this has come from ?

From the screed above it seems it was friends have said . . ..

I vaguely remember friends of Paul Clark in NOTW saying how they knew for certain that Paul was going to give Helen the Heave Ho, as he wanted to go to pasteurs new.

But it seems the damage is done, Justine is now seen as a sly manipulating creature not adverse to using emotional blackmail on the viewers to win.

(Well that is the impression I get from my conversation with my sister :bawling: )

Oh, I think that's a bit harsh, Sticks.

Justine didn't reveal any of this information personally in the BB House - it was her mother who gave the details to the press.

And as Peachy has said, although Justine mentioned to the housemates she had raised some funds for charity, she didn't go into any detail about the amount and what it was for.

You did not hear the vitriol in my sister's voice

Meanwhile this has appeared on the C4 Forum set up for Big Brother.

Re justine......

Well two of my work colleagues are best friends with Justine and it is all true about her best friend Hayley dying of cancer last year. Just after she died , Justine and my friends organised a fashion show in aid of charity which they were hoping to do with her but unfortunatly she died just a couple of weeks before.
According to my friends her home and family are being hounded by the press every day for stories and they decided to talk about her charity work so that they could donate the fee to charity. Of course Justine is completely unaware of any of this and as yet hasn't even mentioned to the others about her best friend. So that tells you something....

(I can not vouch for the authenticity or integrity of the original poster)

Last night Justine and Steph were sat in their beds and looking at photos.
Justine pointed to one of Hayley and explained that she was her best friend who died of cancer.

Justine also said that she was really shocked at the way the housemates reacted to Anouska leaving the house - she said that the concept had been blown out of proportion and they should not get upset about leaving a house, they should feel lucky because they have got the rest of their lives ahead of them.

ROB, I'm a member of Friends Reunited and it's actually the date you amend your records.

So Justine amended her records last on 14 March 2002.
