Turkey arent known for their accurate representation of facts so I remain a bit sceptical on the story. However it is possible that the journalist left the embassy in several diplomatic bags

Given that a lot of intelligence communities seem to be supporting Turkey's version of events, I'm inclined to believe it.
Russia's attack on British soil and now this? Bad omens. We're closer to WW3 then we have ever been.

no, i believe that this journalist came a bit too close to the truth about that Saudi Crown Prince, and got assassinated because of that
that is what i think might've happened

destroyed in a "very fast-acting chemical acid"

The Saudi government acknowledged early Saturday that journalist Jamal Khashoggi was killed while visiting the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, saying he died during a fist fight.
The annoucement, which came in a tweet from the Saudi foreign ministry, said that an initial investigation by the government’s general prosecutor found that Khashoggi been in discussions with people inside the consulate when a quarrel broke out, escalating to a fatal fist fight.
The Saudi government said it had fired five top officials and arrested 18 other Saudis as a result of the initial investigation. Those fired included Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s adviser Saud al-Qahtani and deputy intelligence chief Maj. Gen. Ahmed al-Assiri.
The announcement marks the first time that Saudi officials have acknowledged that Khashoggi was killed inside the consulate. Ever since he disappeared on Oct. 2 while visiting the mission, Saudi officials have repeatedly said that he left the consulate alive and that they had no information about his whereabouts or fate. He had gone to the consulate to obtain a document he needed for an upcoming wedding.
Turkish investigators had concluded days ago that Khashoggi, a contributing columnist to The Washington Post was killed and dismembered by a Saudi team dispatched to Istanbul. U.S. officials have said that Turkey has audio and video recordings providing evidence that he was interrogated, killed and then cut into several pieces.
Earlier Friday, Turkish prosecutors questioned staff at the Saudi Consulate, state media said, suggesting attempts to strengthen a possible criminal case with insider details from the last place journalist Jamal Khashoggi was seen alive..

Why would he Fight?
Yeah, and the audio of him being dismembered while still alive, and those present told to listen to some music while he was being cut into pieces tells a different story.
It has to be terrible for his coworkers to have to keep writing. Trump joking about slamming journalists at rallies leaves a really bad taste. We should be incandescent. An attack on journalists abroad is an attack on the US considering the vital function they play in international-relations here. At least it would've easily had been in a different era... I can't remember a time when it was even remotely this bad in terms of White House/press relations. Though they were not always the warmest.

Press freedom is being eradicated in america without censor or shutting them down by a constant narrative of calling them fake news, and the white house issuing "alternative facts" that have no basis in reality. Its an extremely worrying state of affairs
The other interesting one is that trumps narrative on the russia inquiry has changed from witch hunt to not caring, and thats because any Mueller report now will just be ignored without consequence. The narrative now is China interfering, when there is no evidence of any such thing, and this will be used to invalidate the results of the mid term elections should the results not go trumps way
If I were an american I would be very concerned. I also see similar things starting to raise their heads in the UK, so these are very troubling times

To be fair, our press has helped massively to morph politics into this Frankenstein, so I can't really say it's surprising for most people here that now we have elected officials (and a public) that is willing to push back.
People on the right that I listen to don't say those organizations are fake news. Though they will often say they commonly peddle certain themes in order to uphold a particular narrative. I think the fact they have swayed so far from their own values, journalistic value becoming hard-to-find, it's allowed for people like Trump to come out of that earth unscathed... is my opinion after being practically glued to the news during Obama's run (I remember Tucker when he was on MSNBC with that silly bowtie), and now reading/watching the other side... there's definitely two sides to that coin and it's not being covered in the mainstream at all.
There is a lot that is either not covered or is completely ignored in the mainstream. The thing about ny cultural narrative, it's very difficult to throw the entirity of the US electorate under one broad brushstroke... the US being as diverse as it is and how extensive our culture is and what it is meant to cover, particularly demographically speaking.
I'm not as worried about press, simply for the fact, the way "the press" is determined has rapidly changed due to technology. People in the US are hungry for information. They want the facts. They don't necessarily know who that authoritative source is (edit) and at the moment there seems to be disagreement on if there should/shouldn't be an authority... but that's maybe the wave of the future. There being no "mainstream" so to speak, but rather different partisan niches/takes on the situation and folk just having to do the search and decide on their own. The problem though is the high amount of "edutainment"/"infotainment"... and then the personalization bubble(s) of search/engine social can exascerbate the above issue(s)/mantras I mentioned...
Another thing of concern was Manafort's sentencing hearing yesterday, where the hearing has been postponed due to his considerable ill health (he turned up in a wheelchair) Has someone got to him and poisoned him?
Maybe the Saudis are telling the truth, 18 arrests and two sackings of high ranking officials is a pretty strong statement

Yes that's true,
but they are giving a statement
if your attack Saudi Arabia in worldwide Press
they will kill you.
Their War in Yemen
is far worse.
Labour Party
rush in today saying stop
selling anymore arms to Saudi Arabia
these are Jobs in the UK and USA
making weapons and fighter jets for the that nation,
Jobs matter.

More likely that they've scapegoated a bunch of people to protect the prince.
The Saudi's have changed their story again and are now saying he was murdered by a rogue operation, but of course, nothing to do with the crown prince ... yeah right
