Age proved that age is just a number on Tuesday morning as Davina McCall kick-started her 51st birthday by sharing a shot of her scrawny frame with Instagram followers.

The self-confessed fitness fanatic added a selfie of her increasingly lean physique to Instagram Stories while preparing to start her special day with a gruelling spin-class.

Drawing attention to her abs, Davina – who has previously been criticised for looking ‘ill and underweight’ in similar posed selfies – sports a cropped gym vest and leggings while taking the snap.

Captioning the shot, she wrote: ‘Yassssss! Thank you @spn.fit for my birthday tune!!! Feeling grateful this morning... so blessed… for my family and friends and my health. Thank you for inspiring me.’
