View Full Version : Charley: Charley dislikes Emily the way Jade disliked Shilpa (class 'issues')

Just watching the live show, the way Charley is describing her 'issues' with Emily is the same way I remember Jade Goody describing her 'issues' with Shilpa Shetty.
Charley claims - She doesnt like the way Emily thinks shes better than her and doesnt like Emily's 'face' sometimes.
Does anyone else see the similarity? Is it a 'class' issue?

Exactly, Emily's not said anything bad about her, shes the one with the issues.

Well that is up to the viewing public & up to Endemol to recognize. Editing is everything.
I personally look at Charley & Nicky as ordinary housemates.
Whether they are white or non-white is neither-here-nor there.
Indian or Black.
The last thing anyone wants is another furore on our hands.

I didn't really mean the racism issues Rocky, I was referring more to the 'class' issues.
Emily/Shilpa - 'Posh'
Charley/Jade - 'Chav'
I suppose the correct terms would be something like 'working class' and 'upper class', but I'm not sure about the girls' backgrounds.

I disagree about them being 'fake'. I think that's a different thing (for example, Charley seems quite fake, even though she's a chav). Though, if you believe Emily is 'fake' as well as being 'posh', that's fair enough.

I don't believe Charley and Emily's relationship has any minor indication of being race-related, like some argued the Shilpa - Jade issue had.
To put it simply: Jade and Charley are both thick, and Shilpa and Emily are both considerably more intelligent.
Whether Charley recognises and/or envies that remains to be seen, but I believe that's the root of the disagreement.

I'm confused:
The C4 site writes that Emily told Ziggy something along the lines of 'if I could nominate one person, it'd be Charley.'
(In the 'Charley vs Emily' article)
Does this mean Emily has therefore discussed nominations and requires punishment, or can this be overlooked?
I think it's borderline - what's your opinion?

I think that's pretty much overstepped the line in terms of talking about nominations.Say for instance Ziggy took that on board and to get on side with Emily by nominating Charley's he has been influenced by what she has said and that's a rule break for sure.
