I quite like it, Halloween, fireworks night,Diwali, then Christmas, first two weeks in Jan are the worst when the Christmas lights disappear then you see a stretch to the days and off we go again into Spring

Surely everyone is aware of the divine pleasures which attend a wintry fireside; candles at four o'clock, warm hearthrugs, tea, a fair tea-maker, shutters closed, curtains flowing in ample draperies to the floor, whilst the wind and rain are raging audibly without?

I like the long days of summer.

It would be better to keep the clocks the same (GMT) all year round so there is not an abrupt change during October.

Yes but all of those things involve being at home and unfortunately in the real world people have to leave the house 5 days a week for the entire day :oh:

My old grandmother always used to say, Summer friends will melt away like summer snows, but winter friends are friends forever.

Pretty much my thoughts. It can get as cold and miserable as it likes right up till New Year... but then I want Spring. Immediately.

I used to love the winter, the dark and the rain. Like genuinely love it, like a security blanket, I could wander an empty street at midnight in the rain and feel totally and completely at home.

I completely hate it now and would have it be clear skies and long days all year round.

I wonder what changed .

You do realise that I am living in the same time as you, im not stuck in a 1970s time warp like some sort of science fiction film? And that people around you are all different ages?
