Never make jokes in emails. Especially to middle-class, quinoa munching, hand-wringing twats.

She's a freelancer. Hopefully enough editors will have seen this for her never to sell another article.

again

he was forced to go due to a fear of blame from people higher than him - people who wish to protect their elite status and belongings

as for her?

vile

It just screams ignorance & hate speech tbh. Imagine if he'd joked about force-feeding non-kosher food to Jewish people for example, there would be OUTRAGE (and rightly so).

The fact that it was a written email makes it so much worse. If it had just been the 'what about killing vegans one by one' comment as part of dark humour in a RL conversation, it would be somewhat forgiveable - a reprimanding rather than being fired. But the context just makes it seem like it comes from a place of hate.

Bit worrying when you have twats like this in journalism

Tbh the article is written really weirdly though. I'm genuinely getting confused over which person said what :skull:

From what I gather, she didn't say any of the offensive bits. She went to him asking to write a vegan section in the magazine (vegan recipes etc.) and he responded with the anti-vegan "jokes".

So, in other words, she just wanted to write about veganism. She never said anything about killing vegans or any of the other stuff.. right?

How can you tell if someone is vegan?
They'll tell you. Again. And again. And again.
