Yep - never often as my mum had a "look" that we knew we had pushed it too far but when we did, we got a smack

My dad only gave me a little slap once, it broke my heart at the time.
My mother on the other hand was very handy with her hands, frying pans, slippers or anything else she could get her hands on to give you a good beating.
The only thing that stopped her was when I very calmly told her at 16 after the last time she thumped me black and blue that if she ever laid another finger on me then she would get the same back and more.

My Mum was the one who did the smacking. Always on the thigh and really, never hard. Dad just used to look disappointed in us, which in some ways was worse. My Grandmother smacked me once when I was about 7, I walked into the road and almost got wiped out by a car. I realise now she smacked me because in that moment she was relieved/terrified and a whole mixture of other emotions.

Oh Annie, my Mum had the very same look. Mums must have a death stare installed when they give birth. I bet you've got one....

My mum only did it like twice but on the arm when I was about 6/7
Yep until a certain age we all did. Mainly corporal. The worst was with a belt -_-

My mother used to slap my legs so hard she left her finger marks and when me and my brother argued (he was a massive bully) she grabbed us by the hair and actually cracked our heads together, she had a very short fuse. I asked her once if we could mash the potatoes on the cooker as they were always stone cold - she launched the whole boiling pan of spuds at me !

I can only ever remember my dad smacking me once on the legs after being pushed by my mother.
My mum was very fond of hitting with her wooden Dr Scholl's and other things that came to hand.
To become a well balanced person you need yin and yang. I believe the best way to achieve this is, for a boy the father dishes out the discipline (when called for) and the mother dishes out the love, and for a girl the mother dishes out the discipline and the father the love.
And if you're a single parent child, then you're fooked. I was more or less a single parent child from the age of 12, as my father no longer lived with us, and I missed out on the discipline part from that age onwards, but thankfully I had it for the first 12 years of my life, which was just enough to learn me right from wrong, although I am a bit fooked.
Yes, but it was a bit more than just 'smacking'. Moments of rage :)

I was hit/beaten loads of times while growing up and not just by my parent. It never scared me from misbehaving, I always knew that it came from a place of anger and not discipline.

Lol....mine is still being perfected. It is a death stare but my mum also had a lip thing too, they went white when she was about to blow. It was like a siren to leg it quick

Until I was 9/10 but it wasn't massively hard and didn't leave a mark.
