Will we be able to watch the full episodes of series on YouTube
It says channel 5 have blocked this on copyright grounds
So when noone actually owns it we will be able to watch?

No, Channel 5 will still have rights to the series they aired until a new channel Picks it up.

If there's a new channel, they will either let channel 5 keep the rights to C5 series, or take them over.
I've never understood why previous series have never been repeated on TV, and if they're not going to repeat them, then why not just let people watch on YouTube? What difference does it make to them? They're just being spiteful.

But even channel 4 and YouTube itself use to block old episodes ,you have to get a proxy url to watch a few things in general on YouTube which I've had to do .

I don't understand why either channel would block past episodes - it's not like they're out on DVD, so being online is stealing money from them.
If anything, they'd make money from having them on YT and being monetised.

There have always been ways and means (VPN).
But I expect C5, like C4 will block stuff that they originally screened.

That's not how it works though.
They may not own the show anymore or be making any new material with them, but they will still own the series they paid for.
