Hubby normally put the outside light on the tree for my birthday, end of November, then the inside decs from the frst onwards.
We are supposed to move house on Friday, so once we get sorted maybe:shrug:

Dec 1 which coincides with the end of dry November for me and the TL. We shall have Christmas carols blaring and a couple of drinks as all the decs go up inside and out

getting all these chores out of the way before december, so we can put the Christmas decoration and tree up more relaxed :flutter:

Nicky I used to work with a French Canadian girl years ago and I remember she used to get mixed up with the word "either" aswell all them time. In that sentence aswell would be more correct. Either is usually used when you're comparing two things like "You can either go to Tesco or Asda for your shopping" or it's used in the negative "I don't like that either"

My mum always did 12 days before Christmas and it went down 12 days after.
A lot of people here in Adelaide do it to coincide with the annual Christmas Pageant which was a couple of weeks ago :skull:
I’ll put mine up when I can be bothered, if at all.
Glenn.

Strictly speaking it should go up on Christmas Eve and stay until early Feb, Candlemas.
But that's all changed now.
Christmas would be celebrated for full 12 days until Epiphany, 6th of Jan but festivities of the Carnival would continue until Ash Wednesday when the Lent starts.
Mine goes up around 1st of Dec.

Interesting, my Polish friend follows the tradition of the decs staying up in Jan, they don't put them up in too early though.
Ist December for us

Probably around like the 15th of Dec. Having it up too early cheapens the mood me thinks
