what utter patronising twaddle
aaw look at poor anne, it must be so hard to open a padlock when kids slime is poured on her head - so brave "
bollocks
again perpetuating a myth that people who have condition cant be criticised but are used by able bodied people to virtue signal and show how magnanimous they are
patronising tosh

:clap1: IMO Brave is when you run in a burning building to save a child, not get paid to do a simple task on a tv show

Whilst ignoring how incredibly difficult some autistic people find simple tasks?
Well, at least you have the ability to look outside your own front garden.

Its a huge spectrum that you have no idea where Anne sits
physical disability is the same from someone with a missing pinky to someone paralysed in a wheelchair
one word descriptors for a spectrum condition leads to confusion like we have here where people are using the extrema of a condition to relate to anyone who has been diagnosed with it and then attacking people who dare to suggest that they are doing just that..
Marsh.

Its a huge spectrum that you have no idea where Anne sits.
I haven't suggested to know.
I have, however, listened to Anne herself explain how she has always struggled with what might seem like basic tasks to other people. These being some of the triggers that led a council worker to get her help in the first place.
Pays to listen.
So, then mocking her for an inability to then carry out something you might find simple is callous and ignorant.

So is presuming she cant
and no one is mocking her
I think she could have tried a lot harder in the task, I think she could do a bit more in camp and I think she could brighten up a little as she is in a highly privileged and paid situation that she chose to partake in because its easy money
She is not immune to criticism and we shall soon witness this in the camp

Her aspergers isn't even effecting her in there now that she has a rhythm going...her weight however is...massively.
I've been for sh!ts that have required more bravery.
She's a big fat lazy slob.
Something she's supposed to be good at is answering questions, she couldn't even get that right and win them jam roly poly and custard.

I haven't presumed anything. Again, it's come from her own mouth.
No one's mocking her?

Yeah, ok.

Yes, because being in a highly paid situation fixes any and all disabilities and weaknesses. That's how life works. :umm2:
Between them all they should all be super human, because they're getting highly paid.

I doubt Emily has a snake phobia tbf, I'd imagine she doesn't like snakes but I don't know if someone with an actual phobia would be able to do that. Like, I don't think I'd be able to lie in a box of spiders, I would just freak out without even thinking about it. Where as if it were cock roaches I really don't like them but I could imagine trying anyway

I'm not sure Emily actually said she had a phobia though, just that she hated snakes?(although I might be wrong about that) and tbf people use the word phobia lightly, just like your favourite misused "flu". Anne "claims" to be diagnosed yes, what I do know is Emily certainly never claimed to be diagnosed with a snake phobia

Emily does have a phobia of snakes or is at least very scared of them touching her. She was in a film with snakes in it (i think it is called Hoarder) and she was petrified in the behind scenes but even if she wasn't phobic and just scared it is brave to get in a pit with 50 snakes slithering all over you especially as she had been bitten moments before.

I wasn't saying she wasn't brave, clearly she doesn't like snakes. I really don't mind snakes but I would still have been terrified of that one angry snake  I think she's great, I was just challenging the use of the word phobia (over use more like)

I'm sort of on the fence re. Anne.
It's good she's challenging herself to cope and highlighting the Asperger's issue. But also she should not be immune from criticism where it's due. Like our Nickeh

No doubt to be had.
Emily has never claimed to have a full on phobia, she just doesn't like snakes.
I don't like spiders and would rather not hold a tarantula etc, I wouldn't go as far to say I'm arachnophobic though.

Oh of course she shouldn't.
Most of the 'criticism' so far, however, is simply "She's too fat and lazy to do a trial" which is both unfair and untrue.

she's obese and said she's too lazy to exercise, but saying she's too fat and lazy to do a trial is a gross oversimplification of a complex character with a condition that further complicates her interactions with her environment. I.e. it's lazy thinking.

Brave is a word which virtually has no meaning now ,its used in so many slack ways its lost its meaning ,Emily CHOSE to go in the jungle, Anne CHOSE to go in the jungle, it doesn't make them brave it makes them skint

Anne is one of the most recognisable faces across the UK and is the host of Britain's Brightest Family and a Chaser on the UK and Australian versions of "The Chase"
I'm not sure how much those three jobs pay, but I certainly doubt she's skint

Daytime TV or not she'll be earning enough that she won't be needing for anything.
Then she gets all the royalties of the constant repeats, the apps, the board games, all the merchandise and starring in foreign versions of it.
She'll be making a very tidy sum for herself.
(Also The Chase airs in the evening, so your unemployed viewer schtick doesn't work).

I've had my issues with Anne on the show, but you honestly think that the tasks on the show are simple? Because personally speaking I wouldn't want Spiders or Worms being poured on top of my head.

There's only one way of being brave? :conf:
So people can't be brave for facing their personal demons/fears or overcoming struggles that more privileged people find extremely simple? Are you for real?
