I get that something needs to be done and I have limited sympathy for the criminals, none if they're violent criminals, however... In practical terms, this is going to end with an officer killing or paralysing someone, giving themself PTSD, and opening the service up to legal action.

They’re all fully trained with hot to knock them off, they know not to do it too hard, so I highly doubt it

Got to agree with TS here, its an accident waiting to happen and then the Police brutality claims will start. Something needs to be done but don't think this is the right way to go about it

I can almost get on board with it if it's been something like a stabbing or acid attack as letting the person get away is a clear risk to the lives / health of other people... But things like theft? No. Its just not appropriate to use that level of force to apprehend a non-violent criminal.
