Davina McCall has spoken for the first time about the Celebrity Big Brother race row - and says Jade Goody, Danielle Lloyd and Jo O'Meara were racist.

The TV host, who will bow out after this summer's Big Brother series, had to be neutral when she interviewed the housemates about their disgraceful bullying of Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty because of a police investigation.

But the 39-year-old mother of three has broken her silence now to brand the trio's behaviour "appalling".

Davina said: "Jade behaved appallingly, as did Jo and Danielle Lloyd, and there was bullying."

Davina faced criticism for allegedly giving the bullies as easy ride during the eviction interviews.

She added: "The Big Brother house is no stranger to bullying tactics but it was always worked through in the end and some sort of justice is usually done. I don't think Jo did herself any favours in the interview.

"Legally, at that time, I was not allowed to have an opinion as to whether or not she was racist - she hadn't necessarily said extremely racist things. It was her collusion with Jade that had got her into trouble, really horrible stuff."

"But I couldn't sit there and say that's racist, because I would be judging and prosecuting her. I think it was just real bitchy naivety on their parts. They were silly, bitchy girls. I think girls have a tendency to be like that."

Davina has been the face of BB since it started in 2000, but will quit the Channel 4 reality show after the current series.

At the time, she said she was worried about getting pigeonholed and wanted to move on to other television projects.

Davina might be picking a shrewd time to leave the Big Brother fold.

The future of the series was thrown into turmoil because of the racism allegations, and Channel 4 was forced to make a grovelling apology over the incident before the current series began last week.

Davina spoke out about this last week on Paul O'Grady, she said she felt it was indeed bullying, but more about class than about ethnicity. She also essentially said that they would have to drag her kicking and screaming from the studio before she leaves, so I still don't think she's quitting.

One thing you can be sure of, if Davina thought they were racist she won't have been the only one attached to the program who thought so.

Which makes the cover-up an even more blatant self serving exercise than previously thought, in fact, considering the public statements at the time denying it, its even worse than that

So Davina McCall rushes to the Daily Mail at a Hundred miles per-hour(100mph) & suddenly says that racism existed, but before it wasn't that way??????? (Don't believe a word:rolleyes::rolleyes:) Jade Goody, Jo O'Meara & Danielle Lloyd said some words & comments which may have been construed as containing possible racial overtones & that's it. I heard every word & comment which was aired in that shown footage & the (Mild words & comments) are exactly as I described. Furthermore, Endemol DO NOT allow (Racism) to happen in the BB or CBB show. This is what happened. (Overtones), nothing more. If there had have been more. Prosecutions would have made against Endemol & all three girls. The investigation which followed these (So-Called Racist remarks) were classed as being (Offensive) only. CPS, that is (Crown Prosecution Service) have deemed the words & comments as only offensive. Opinions from a BB & CBB presenter are to be ignored.

Davina McCall got told to do something and as she is an employee & has to listen and observe the orders which are given by her Employer, then that is understandable. This is where Davina is stating the Bleeding obvious.

I agree totally:thumbs: In CBB5 that is an astute observation. As the shown-footage & the way it was edited certainly made anyone believe it was like that. Also, don't forget how much Shilpa Shetty annoyed them. That is a real observation:bigsmile:

I read that article in a Newspaper. Something about (John Noel), I believe. Jade & Davina sharing the same agent. That was what they said. Newspapers, that is:rolleyes:
