View Full Version : Anne - saying she had been treated as a failure all her life

A very genuine moment I felt, made even more poignant in that most of them have made her feel like a failure in camp as well by not pushing her to do more outside of her comfort zone

Yes my heart was filled when she revealed that she taunted and laughed at her sibling because she was making more money

such a lovely tale at this time of year..

I like Anne and did feel sorry for her when she revealed that, I do wish the campmates would stop their molly coddling of her though, but it was a nice tender moment and I do feel she was a little heartbroken by her past.

Most people, if not all, are failures in life until they are not. It's not something unique to Anne

I don't think that's necessarily true at all. There's people who have always done well at whatever they throw their hand at and there's people who weren't good at anything until they found one thing they were good at and became successful at that.

Anne's backstory is her only point of interest. It's reached the point where good campmates will go because of it.

Yeah and some people are just naturally more confident & successful whereas others are introverts and need a boost and probably feel self conscious at first .

 well maybe he taunted her all her life who knows, the bottom line is nothing has changed for Anne, people still think she can't do things, and I think her self esteem is so low she won't push herself for fear of failure

she has at least succeeded in exposing her character on her quiz show as an act I suppose

It was a nice moment and I felt sorry a bit for her too.
However, she doesn't sadly appear to mind being helped, looked after and things done for her.
She could halt that in an instant.

I have to laugh that she seems to do little around camp and hesitates or refuses trials.
Sitting or lying around a fair bit of the time.
Then though, once food or treats appear, she's up and running almost first in the queue for them.:joker:

I love hearing others stories of their lives however and I agree it had its sad elements to hers.

If you mean perfect, you're right. There's not one person with a perfect life.

But, a failure, that's not something everyone can say they've been. Or, in Anne's case, been treated like one.

Well, I'm not being funny, but the backstories and what they add to conversation is literally all they can do. Just like on Big Brother (before it became all about shouting matches), they are sat about with nothing to do that will entertain the public apart from conversing with one another.

The only other thing is the trials, of which there is 1 or 2 a day and most of them have had their fair share. Including Anne.

He brought bugger all to the show. :joker::joker:

It was such a delight to see him eliminated after all the cash spent on him and all the fawning and bigging up he got from Dec and the Extra Camp lot. :laugh2:

Never having watched the show she is on, she doesn't strike me as someone that is viewed by herself or her camp mates as self sufficient or even half way capable, so that gives me the impression of failure rather than success .... i mean, downing a disgusting drink warranted her getting a hug from one of the presenters, where all the other camp mates were left to get on with it .... that in itself tells me all i need to know.

I don’t get what Anne has done to deserve so much hatred. Despite her being outshined by other members, I personally think she’s one of the most loveliest women in the camp.

That moment definitely pulled heart strings though I can’t lie.

I still don’t understand the logic behind this whole Anne and sympathy votes. I personally want to see her in the final 5, taking on the cyclone and I’m sure a lot of other people do too

She won’t win though as much as I’d like to see that happening.

Because of her sob stories or because you like her personally ?

Even when she was on the chase and before I found out about her autism, I loved her. Also, I wouldn’t see them as sob stories because I think she’s managing fine, even with the disorder

how on earth could you love a person who appears sporadically on a daytime quiz show?

She’s sociable with other members of the camp, despite having autism. But I highly doubt the reason people are voting is purely out of pity. Maybe they just want to see her progress and do more trials outside her comfort zone?

I’ve been a fan of The Chase for quite a while now and she does have qualities that make me warm to her. But that’s irrelevant.
