Sadly Maru decided to leave.
She asked to be permabanned but as that wasn't forthcoming she changed her password to a random key smash and put in a fake email address.
I'm sorry we've lost a thoughtful and kind member, she will be missed.
I'm in touch with her via email so if anybody wants to pass a message let me know.

She's fine. She said she met some lovely people here, but she was not happy with bad blood and fighting that happens all too often. I guess she's had enough.

I'll try to be serious for a second, it's sad to lose a member like Maru as she always offered a balanced post and she was always nice to me personally so I never had an issue with her, I hope that she comes back.

I really liked Maru, she always brought a calming presence into the forum, and was always very kind and thoughtful to everyone...

To be fair it can’t really be attention seeking if she’s not here to receive the attention.

Coming on here is a routine for many and like everything else can become habitual. If she recognised that it was toxic for her changing the password/email to something she couldn’t crack stops her from slipping back into said habit.

It’s not like Maru is here announcing her departure, we’re being told by Twosugars after the fact.

Maru was not an attention seeking person and I myself have asked for a ban in the past!

The forum can be a bad habit to break, that why people go on and off, screwing your pass word is a way of self deletion and knowing you can’t come back as that member.

Maru told me she had taken breaks from the forum before, but this time she wanted to leave for good. That's why she asked James to be permabanned but he was reluctant to agree. So she self-banned the best way she could.
She had been considering it for months so it wasn't a hasty decision. And no, it wasn't because of a small misunderstanding with Marsh in that recent thread.

I'll email her today and pass on your good wishes. Just hope she won't kill me for ruining her quiet departure :unsure:
