People these days have grown to become... offended on the easiest subjects.

Let those poor lonely people cry into their alcohol about how other people should raise their children, no-one with a brainstem takes that sort of thing seriously.
The only requirements are to be fat, wear a read suit and have a long white beard. I don't see how that is discriminatory
There is only ONE Santa !!

Who cares? He's not real, he's not a religious icon, he basically exists as a way to make parents buy more toys for their kids.

How to make a clickbaity christmas story go viral
1. Find something that the public doesn't understand and/or fears (Muslims were preferable in previous years).
2. Link it to Christmas in any tenuous way possible and make out that some minor remark or outraged individual is enough to bring about the end of Christmas forever.
3. Laugh as people who call other people easily offended and/or snowflakes share this story in their droves while stating how offended they are.
It's so easy.

and has been bastardised over a dozen times over the centuries, it'd be a bit silly to get up in arms about it at this point

Why did you assume people were offended by a male santa? A mere suggestion of a female santa isnt the same as being offended. You sound offended.

Well, yes, of course it has. Religion itself has evolved and changed and modified over the centuries. And I agree it's a silly article about nothing.
But it has religious roots as much as Christmas itself does.

Even the Vikings had Santa, in the form of Odin - they would leave out boots full of hay, which his (nine legged) horse would eat, and the boot would be filled with presents!

People wanted Santa to be called 'Person Christmas' instead of 'Father Christmas '
I chuckled at this! Ho ho ho!
Next year people will want Santa to be a bisexual vegan

Good ideas!
This Progressive Klaus/Christmas/Person already sounds more iconic than the musty old man version. I know I'll be leaving them a vegan mince pie this year :flutter:
I saw a story yesterday that said the Scottish Parliament are renaming Gingerbread men, Gingerbread person, to tackle sexism.

As if a woman could get around the World in one night. It'd take her half the time just to get ready.
