Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson has hit out at the young 'snowflake' generation, accusing those who are 'easily offended' of pulling society 'backwards'.

The former wrestler, 46, has revealed that while he supports people feeling free to be whoever they are, he's none too pleased about those who constantly complain.

California native Dwayne said 'I don’t have to agree with what somebody thinks, who they vote for, what they voted for, what they think, but I will back their right to say or believe it. That’s democracy.

i agree with Dwayne, on the younger generation being easily offended

complaining also isn't good to do that all the time, it makes you feel depressed

Yep, it's usually the ones who love using the word "snowflake" who are easily offended too.

Doesn't matter what he say's, millenials will never accept criticism of their generation, they're far too egotistical and selfish, they'd just turn it back on him. As proved in this thread.

I agree in principle that people are too easily / quickly offended but I completely disagree that it is related to generation or age. Or, as is commonly the mistake, political leanings. It's a societal phenomenon, I would hypothesise (though have no evidence) that it's in many ways linked to connectivity / "the social media era" but it's a mindset that's affected a number of people of every generation from boomers downwards, of all ages, and from both ends of the political spectrum. Yes, there are plenty of too-easily-offended 22 year old gender non-binary socialists out there. There are also just as many too-easily-offended 60 year old arrow-straight whiskey drinking right wingers littering any comments section you could care to read.

It's just become "a thing". Not one that's inherent to any generation, just a mindset that's caught on across society.

It's also nowhere near as many people as is often made out... it's just that they're very loud about it.

It's a slur, so borne of anger and frustration, and angry, frustrated people are easily riled and offended. That's really the great irony of these terms :joker:.

I mean, just look at what happens to Alf if you tell him that "Dad's Army" is dated and trash. :omgno:

The subject matter is set in WW2, so obviously it's dated in that sense, the show was made between 1968 - 1977, so in that sense it's dated, but the comedy is timeless, which is why it's still BBC prime time television to this day, including Christmas day just gone.

That is the kind of selfless altruism I would expect of the "The Rock" generation

Oh please, the biggest snowflakes come from the older generation. Mention millenials, non-binary gender, muslims or immigration and you'll get the most ridiculous snowflake-y responses from the people who often call the younger generations snowflakes.

https://www.tmz.com/2019/01/11/the-rock-rips-generation-snowflake-reasons-offended-free-speech/It did sound quite a lot like fake news to be honest. Like I could almost see him sayi g that people get offended too easily, but using the actual word "snowflake" is just too... Well... Too trashy-British-tabloid to have been said by a major Hollywood actor. His PR people would also never have let this interview happen. He's not Katie Price.
