View Full Version : Does anyone think BB could possibly just return to C5?

As it was one of their biggest shows and for a long time was their biggest with nothing coming close, if c5's general ratings dwindle and/or when Ben frow leaves, I see it as if it were to be revived one day it could just end up back on c5.
What would people make of all this? Like ngl it was a show treaten like **** for a very long time but the production values in 2018 were a major step up and it was back to basics and the last civillian and celeb seemed very c4ish/classic BB.
If they stuck to that kind of standard then maybe I wouldn't mind, and after some time off a relaunch some January one year of a CBB would generate a fair bit of hype imo

I always thought C5 planned to bring it back one day, hence Ben Frow saying he only planned for one year without it
I think it was Endemol who decided it would be the last series on C5, and it’ll look so messy if it ends back there hahaha

Would anyone really want it to return on Channel 5?
And probably not considering how little they indicate to care for the show.

C5 doesn't deserve her. It needs a revival in a few years on either Netflix or Channel 4.

Honestly from the way they were treating the show at the end if Endemol accepted any kind of offer from C5 I probably wouldn’t watch.

Nope. Not gonna happen

for the last two series (celeb and civil) it wasn't particularly tacky imo

it needs a hiatus definitely, but coming back and a different location, different channel to broadcast it on can do wonders for the show, newer ideas for the concept

Hope not.
I'd rather never see BB ever again over it being brought back to Channel 5.

To me it looks like C5 massively pissed Endemol off and I really think Endemol would rather have BB come back on the Paramount channel over Channel 5.
Endemol really want nothing to do with C5 ever again regarding BB. There are still many Endemol type shows on the other channels. Not sure what else C5 air that is Endemol? Nothing I think. Doesn't surprise me.

I agree, the shade thrown at Channel 5 over the course of the final series makes me think that Endemol would rather pursue other options...

And lets not forget that Richard Osman who is part of the Endemol team and his tweets of dislike for Channel 5 when the axe news was confirmed.

There isn’t the appetite for it anymore. You can’t go back. C5 ruined it. The

No Viacom the USA Company
ruined it for Ch5 and Endemol.

I can see that as a possibility but in YEARS from now, either when love island dies down or have a civilian BB in the feb - march/April slot where survival of the fittest used to be.
CBS will be showing soon BB and love island USA, why can't itv2? I'd only want in a few years from now though anyway.

Viacom literally had no input on what happened with Big Brother. Frow ruined it, and he was in place long before the Viacom purchase.

I can’t see him sticking around much longer after Viacom’s profits take a dive due to Channel 5’s lack of programming...

It's dead.
I'd say the only chance it has of making a comeback is if a streaming service takes it on and even then it'll be done in the US format since you couldn't do live voting and evictions on something like Netflix. It's not happening though.
BBUK is dead and buried.

The only channel capable of re-producing BB is Channel 4. I'd love to see the show revived and brought back to it's early 2000s roots, but sadly I don't see it happening.

Nope, never want it on Channel 5 ever again, and AFAIK, Ch5 wouldn't ever want it back and most importantly, Endemol wouldn't either.

Revivals always happen.
Nothing is really dead. Gladiators came back after 8 years, Love Island after 10 years. A format like BB will never be dead when there are other countries still showing it.
I don't want it back for many years, but I do think it will be back, whether it's in 2 years or 20 years.

CH5 ran the show into the ground, both in terms of quality and overexposure.
Sadly they seem to have been the only option to keep the UK show alive when C4 dumped it.
