Ashley James has revealed the terrifying moment her pet cat almost drowned in the bath as she filmed an Instagram beauty tutorial.

The ex Made in Chelsea and Big Brother starlet said she had presumed her moggy Lady was just playing around when she heard splashes coming from the tub.

But as she continued on with her video, Ashley discovered her kitten submerged in water.

Returning to Instagram after the heart-stopping incident ,30-year-old Ashley said she had learnt a valuable lesson and described Lady as 'traumatised.'

She said: "Guys, last night I heard splashing and presumed the kittens were playing around. So I followed the noise filming, as I always do, and Lady was drowning in my bath water.

"Little sausage was so traumatised but today she's dry and cuddled up to me.

"Lesson learned: don't forget to empty the bath, so grateful I head her," said Ashely.

Animal lover Ashley often shares snaps and videos of her several cats and her dog on Instagram, who she fondly refers to as her 'fur babies.'

Since finding fame Ashley has styled herself as an influencer on social media sand regularly posts to her followers about body confidence.

How can she not realize at that age that cats hate that sort of stuff, not to mention kittens would be too small to survive?? :skull: Acts like these are so careless and all too common

She didn't throw the cat in on purpose.

She forgot to empty it and the cat fell in. :skull:

You literally just said "does she not know the cats hate that sort of stuff" and he's too small to survive. That insinuates she planned this. Just an accident.

Yes I know it was an accident but the cat was still in close proximity, christ it's just a minor comment and hopefully she's improved on it

Dont believe it.

If her natural instict was to take a photo on snapchat instead of get the cat out, shes either a ****ing **** or a liar. Im hoping and thinking its the latter.

I'm not gonna judge her too harshly as I think that as pet owners we've all had moments where we couldn't find our pets and they've got themselves into trouble as tbf you can't always keep an eye on them.

However I do think that she should be careful about letting her Kitten go into the Bathroom in future.
