Labour is basically a headless chicken at this point, with their bloody leader and front bench who can't make their minds up on Brexit policy.

At least the Lib Dems have a good firm set of policies to do with Brexit, and those who don't agree and instead support May's Deal resign the whip and don't confuse the message

Pretty much, I don't think a centre party can succeed tbh, when you look at parties succeeding that aren't the main three, it's often because they are on the extreme left or right.

A new centrist party will never work. By definition it sits between the other parties and if they ever gain any traction, the other parties will just take their policies as their own. The same thing repeats itself over and over. The only parties that are unique are those that contain at least an element of extremism as that is what sets them apart.

I live in a marginal Labour constituency that flipped in 2017 by just 249 votes. I think he does need my vote.

And the lib dems did surrender a lot of their principles which is why they were decimated in the following election. They should have walked away from the coalition to potentially force another election when the Tories forced through bedroom tax and the cuts to social spending and the NHS.

That coalition handed the Tories the next election and that's when the ****show really began. I can't forgive Lib Dems for that.

How many times have Labour and the Tories gone back on their principles? It's called compromise - Britain needed stability after the 2010 General Election. This was the best time to finally put some liberal laws into government.

How many times have Labour and the Tories gone back on their principles? It's called compromise - Britain needed stability after the 2010 General Election. This was the best time to finally put some liberal laws into government.

If it was a Tory majority things would've been a lot worse.

If Lib dems walked away from the coalition, it wouldn't have given the Tories a majority government right there and then. They would either have to quickly form another coalition (which wouldn't have happened) attempted a minority government or would have had to call another election.

Lib Dems made too many concessions in their greed for power and they paid for it in the election that followed and we all paid for it because they lost enough support to guarantee the Tories a majority government.

Corbyn is being cunning about Brexit. He wants a soft brexit but refuses to be clear bc doesn't want to alienate remainers.

Under the first-past-the-post system a new party will always have an uphill struggle to get a decent representation in parliament.
Anyway tho, I'm not sure there's a need for another centrist party (LibDems being one already). The other two parties regularly move towards and away from the centre and would periodically squeeze out the new party making its life even more difficult.
