What could a homeless sex worker need more than hollow words of encouragement from the aristocracy?

I think her heart was in the right place, it just wasn't appropriate when dealing with adults, and as for writing it on the banana I have no words

the gift bag that they gave to guests at their wedding was pretty awful too i believe

Even if Meghan thought up the idea, you would have thought her husband or staff would have explained things to her :nono:

No actually, most do it because of limited education and they're desperate for money, and it's one of few jobs that require no qualifications. Addiction usually occurs afterwards.

People enter the profession for various reasons, the most common being unemployment or a desire to improve their income.

No skills or qualifications are required for the job, making it a possible source of income for most people. It is also relatively easy to find work as the demand for sex workers is great. In many cases, sex workers can determine when and how often they work, allowing for greater flexibility of their time.

And some interesting stuff about addiction:

Substance abuse is common in all sectors of the sex industry and has an important function in sex work. According to SWEAT research, many sex workers report that substance abuse helps them to cope with the demands of the work by, for example, lowering inhibitions, offering an escape, strengthening denial and reducing fear, especially in the case of street sex work.

http://sciencenordic.com/what-drives-prostitute

Despite the sexual drive, the main reason for prostitution in all groups is money.

“Money is cited by 85% of the prostitutes,” says Kofod. “Some have to pay for housing, food and day care for their children, others must pay for their drug abuse, while others want an extra week’s holiday abroad.”

A typical story, according to the researcher, is that a man divorces a woman and takes all the money, and the woman then sees prostitution as the only way to earn a living.

Those are a couple I could find with actual statistics/research to back it up, just from the first page of a google search... Foreign research, mind you, but then most 'classic' research is.

If I was a struggling sex worker I don't think I could look at one in the same way ever again.

But also, if she had a conversation with any of the girls she could have figured this out. I used to volunteer with an organization in Vancouver offering help to women who were homeless and on the streets... it was very apparent to me after the first night talking to the women working in prostitution this was the case.
