I imagine he's done this belligerently on advice . You have plenty of people to drive you luckily , you are one pensioner who'll never need a bus pass.

He can drive around the estates for the fun of it.
But pleased he is no longer on public roads.

This should have been done a long time ago.
A 97 year old isn't fit enough to drive at a public road, even though his health may be good for his/her age...
At least nobody got seriously hurt or even worse.

Selfish and privileged.
Sounds like he might have done it to avoid charges over the crash

Depends on the 97 year old. Let's see if you feel differently when you yourself get to a ripe old age. If you are that lucky.
You know people have to start re-applying for their licences at 70?
The majority of accidents are caused by young males. More rational than taking licences from older people would be to ban people from driving till they're 25. This will mean fewer vehicles on the road and fewer reckless young men.
Surprise, surprise, it's now been announced that Phil won't face any charges

There are people that age who are safe to drive. You can’t simply write people off on age alone. The most dangerous drivers on the roads and the biggest cause of fatalities on the roads are young men. I thought everyone knew that. :nono:
