Why would they create a new Facebook page if the format was totally dead though? It seems like there's something going on behind-the-scenes to me.

Channel 5 rebranded the existing one to be "Reality on 5" or something like that, so I guess someone took it into their own hands to make another.

It's not a new page it's the Big Bother Auditions page they just changed the name

Maybe hopeful here but I do think (hope) that it will be back next year for its 20th Anniversary
