I guess what's your ultimate "guilty pleasure" movie, or maybe "secret pleasure"? Movie[s] that you love, can watch over and over again yet you seem to be alone in liking them?

For me, it's Dazed and Confused (1993). I even watched it once with my best friend and she said it was the most pointless movie she'd ever seen, just didn't get the whole aesthetic and vibe of it. Like for me, a huge lover of all-things Americana and muscle cars and what-not, I love it to death, it's perfect. She HATED it. :skull:

Thankfully, she's the one in the minority it seems, a classic movie! :joker:

- The Entitled
- The Den
- Grave Encounters
- The Final
- Triangle
- Disturbia
- Time Lapse
- The Loved Ones

Probably more known than I think but I just RARELY see people talking about these IRL. There's also one more really good really unknown one but it's so unknown I totally forgot what it's even called :joker:

Those are all GEM movies btw

Edit: Oh I just realized that this is movies others I know don't like. I completely misread the thread title lmao. Others I know either like these too or just don't know about them. :hehe:

Great isn't it? I usually watch it a few times a year, usually in the Summer time. You know when there's a heatwave and it's too hot to sleep... That or something like Pulp Fiction is my go-to to pass the time!

I need to watch that film again. It was on Film4 when I first watched it, I was bored that night and I think I only watched it because Ben Affleck was in it

Glad I decided to watch it. It's such a feel good film. I remember that it put a smile on my face the next day

I don't hate the 3rd Matrix film.

I mean, I don't love it, and I think both the sequels could have been better, but I don't find it as bad / unwatchable as a lot of people seem to. It's still competent sci-fi film. I think the reason it gets so much hate is 1) people struggle to understand the (to be fair, needlessly) convoluted Architect stuff and 2) The first Matrix film showed SO much potential for an ongoing franchise, and the sequels just didn't capitalise on "what might have been".

I enjoyed it though it had a minor jump-the-shark because the idea that anyone could get in a blacked out car and drive to a supermarket using only satnav and proximity sensors is just too much :joker:. They'd have made it less than 50 metres and that's being generous.

Who hates Iron Man 1 Mock? That’s commonly seen as one of the greatest comic book films of all time, and is adored by comic book fans. It’s the film that began the MCU Franchise

Unless you’re mistaken it for iron man 2, am I missing something?

Batman vs Superman

I've talked about this (at length) on here before and it has obvious huge flaws but overall I enjoy the film. I think the action scenes are excellent and I like the overall visual style.

My friends and family find Iron Man 1 boring which I should've clarified tbf.

Iron Man 2 & 3 are a bit ropey imo, especially the third.

Hey TS :wavey: I agree with what you said about Batman v Superman. Despite its flaws, I think it is a fantastic film and the action scenes are top notch. Love him or hate him, Zack Snyder knows how to do action scenes

Awful films. First one was ok, the rest are trash.

I'd say only Brenda's scenes in the sequels are at all funny.

What's wrong with Black Panther. :o

The villain sucks something rotten imo.

Also I didn't buy that such a technological society like Rawkanda would be into tribal rituals like the Film was portraying, but tbf maybe I'm just being harsh as I usually can be when it comes to storylines.:joker:

Another thing that bothered me with Black Panther was the fact that Rawkanda (excuse the spelling) was meant to be an advanced society yet when the world has been attacked throughout these Marvel Films the Rawkandans decided to not lend their help in any shape or form? I know that they like to be recluse normally, but when we're meant to be believing that Earth is in danger you'd like to think that the most powerful nation in the world of Marvel would've tried to enter the world scene a lot sooner than they have done imo.

The only thing I hated about Iron Man 3 was the twist about the mandarin. The trailers made him look so badass and menacing- only for all of that to go out of the window when they revealed he was an actor.

That almost put me off the whole film

The biggest problem with these "cinematic universes" for me. So many different stories, characters, ideas that they all contradict one another.

The only really strong Thor Film imo is the third one, the tone and style was better in that one imo, also Thor and the leading lady of that Film have a much better dynamic with each other than Thor and Jane imo which made those Films too mundane with Earth based drama imo which didn't suit Thor.
