Gives public testimony today in front of congress to discuss Donald.

His opening prepared testimony can be read here (It's a longish read so I'm not posting the whole thing in the thread)

Yeah I don’t think he’s going to supply the ‘smoking gun’ that brings down Trump like people think he will, but it’ll be interesting how far the corruption goes

The thing to remember is that Mueller will have all the evidence to support his testimony. Thats what counts

Exactly, there are already contradictions to the written testimony trump provided Mueller. Such as not knowing that Stone was in contact with wikileaks.

Just republican Congressman Matt Gaetz threatening Michael Cohen the day before he testifies in public.

https://www.axios.com/matt-gaetz-michael-cohen-threat-house-oversight-testimony-42817ab9-438d-4b77-99fd-ba0765d3d1b7.html

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) tweeted a threat to President Trump's former personal attorney Michael Cohen on the eve of his public testimony before the House Oversight Committee.

Hey @MichaelCohen212 - Do your wife & father-in-law know about your girlfriends? Maybe tonight would be a good time for that chat. I wonder if she’ll remain faithful when you’re in prison. She’s about to learn a lot...

Why it matters: Cohen originally postponed his appearance before various congressional committees in part because of "threats against his family" from Trump and his attorney Rudy Giuliani. Gaetz, a Trump loyalist, recently told the New York Times that he's proud that scrutiny of investigations by congressional Republicans — including branding the Mueller probe as a "witch hunt" — has "aided in the president's defense."

In a text exchange with Vox's Alex Ward, Gaetz said he disagrees with those who claim he is witness tampering: "I’m witness testing. We still are allowed to test the veracity and character of witnesses, I think."
He again denied witness tampering to The Daily Beast: "This is what it looks like to compete in the marketplace of ideas."

He's actually a great witness, Cohen has already been sentenced to prison for 3 years, nothing he says can make that any shorter. However, lying to congress is a crime that can extend his sentence even further, so in order to avoid more jail time, it's in his interests (to say the least) to speak truth.

Does it not seem strange that trump hires dodgy lawyers or is it just bad luck?

It'll be interesting to see what he has to say but I'm keeping my expectations low, I don't trust Cohen one bit and I can only hope that Mueller can back up Cohen's claims.

"Mr. Trump is a racist. The country has seen Mr. Trump court white supremacists and bigots. You have heard him call poorer countries “****holes.” In private, he is even worse. He once asked me if I could name a country run by a black person that wasn’t a“****hole.” This was when Barack Obama was President of the United States. While we were once driving through a struggling neighborhood in Chicago, he commented that only black people could live that way. And, he told me that black people would never vote for him because they were too stupid"

The president of the United States, folks.

I'm in the same boat, but he was working with Mueller for a while before his sentencing, and Mueller wouldn't accept things without the evidence to back it up. He can't talk about all the subjects people might want to hear about as there is still an on-going investigation taking place.

He's been broken, it will only get worse for him if he lies going forward.

But he lasted 20 years? In that time he directed him to make illegal payments and commit/cover up his other crimes. I'll ask again, was it just bad luck that he hired a dodgy lawyer or was it beneficial to him to have that guy as his lawyer.

He didn't confirm that. He just said he didn't know about it. He also said he was in trumps office when Roger Stone called him and said that he'd spoken to wikileaks about a DNC email dump. Both Trump and Stone had previously said they hadn't spoken about this matter, when providing testimony to the special counsel.

Cohen also provided actual evidence that the president committed federal crimes.

The fact Cohen didn't overplay what he knew and actually defended trump in different parts of his testimony, made him a more credible witness.

Only some of it is. Surely you know this?

Calling african countries "****holes" and neo-nazi's "very fine people" were public statements, so there is no accusation if it's a matter of record.

The private stuff, about driving round a chicago neighbourhood and saying "only black people could live like this" or "black people will never vote for me because they're too stupid", those are accusations.

He also used the N-word on the campaign which was accused by Omarosa and confirmed by Katrina Pierson who remains a loyal supporter of Trump to this day.

Cohen said some interesting things and backed it up with some evidence, but he is a crook, so anything he says has to be corroborated from other parties. That to me was the value of the testimony, it's a starting point down the path of truth.

You need to stop visiting far left websites as that information is incorrect. For example: https://eu.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2018/08/11/donald-trump-charlottesville-anniversary-condemn-all-racism/965715002/

You can pull apart many political statements and try and move context and fit them into some forced political narrative. His message regarding that Charlottesville debacle was simple and I leave it below|:

"The riots in Charlottesville a year ago resulted in senseless death and division," Trump posted on Twitter Saturday morning. "We must come together as a nation. I condemn all types of racism and acts of violence. Peace to ALL Americans!"

If you notice in that quote, he is talking about Charlottesville 1 year later. What he actually said at the time in a public press conference was that at a neo-nazi rally, where one guy drove his car through a bunch of people protesting their presence (and killing one person), that there were "very fine people on both sides" Whilst at the same time, refusing to condemn the Nazi marches.

This was the rally where NN's were marching through the streets shouting "Jews will not replace us" and "blood and soil"

I'm only using the presidents own public words. I haven't relied on any links from any websites.
He got hammered in the polls, and rightly so for his initial comments, so of course one year later he wouldn't make the same mistake twice.

I can tell you're a fox-head because only fox-heads obsess over Hilary Clinton when she has nothing to do with anything anymore. I didn't like her as a candidate at the time, but the lesser of 2 evils seems like a pretty accurate description as she would have been a bad president too.

It certainly is a guarantee, guaranteed to be wrong.

Cohen wouldn't have been given the chance to speak like this if there wasn't anything to back up his words. I'll be awaiting the evidence to corroborate his claims but it's not looking good for Trump as it stands.
