What do you think thing about Emily has been ejected for racial/discrimination offence ?

Fair= she deserved it !
Unfair= she didn't deserve that.
They had to punish her in a different way= by an other punishment.
It doesn't matter really != you are not bothered !

Emily: (referring to Charley dancing/pushing her hips forward) You pushing it out you ******.
Nicky: (shocked laughter) Em, I can't believe you said that.
Charley: You are in trouble.
Emily: Don't make a big thing out of it then. I was joking.
Charley: I know you were... but that's some serious ****, sorry.
Emily: Why?
Charley: Oh my god. I'm not even saying it.
Nicky: Just don't talk about it anymore.
Emily: I was joking
Charley: Do you know how many viewers would watch that?
Nicky: Okay, don't make a big deal out of it.
Charley: Fancy you saying that. I can't believe you said that.
Emily: Somebody has already used that word in this house.
Charley: No way. (Pause) Yeah, me. I'm a ******.

Nicky laughs.

Charley: I am one. Fancy you saying it. I know maybe you see it in a rap song. Maybe you and your friends sit there saying it.
Emily: I'm friendly with plenty of black people.
Nicky: And you call them *******?
Emily: Yeah and they call me *******. They call me wiggers as well.
Nicky: I'm quite shocked.
Charley: I'm ****ing in shock.
Emily: It's not a big deal though is it?
Charley: Not for us it ain't. **** me.

Fair, there is no justification for using that word whatsoever.

If this was BB7 or any time before then, she'd have been punished differently.

I think it was totally fair, you can't go around making those sort of comments towards someone. I just hope they spoke to Charley about it as well because if they did then it will be interesting to hear what she has to say.

Totally fair!

Whichever way she intended to use the word, she used it. There's n oexcuse for it. BB did the right thing.

Well..... if they would have done that, people would have raised questions about Big Brother not doing their job, once again. Yet again, we would have had Ofcom making a statement about racism, which could have lead to Big Brother getting cancelled.

Using that word is unacceptable, joking or not joking.

If that was the case, I don't think Big Brother should be on air at all. Using racism, joking or not joking, is totally unacceptable. It's not a fine example to the people at home watching this if they're hearing such words.

They Should have punished her a different way

Emilee

They should have done another punnishment. something big but not ejection. it is clear she as just havinbg a stupid moment and didnt mean it intentionally rasist.

I believe they could have let Charley herself decide the punishment, although I do agree with the final decision. We really don't need another media circus on the subject.

Fair. If Jade got punished, then so should she.

Saves her the egging she would have got on Friday. About 3% of the overall BB viewing audience actually like the tw*t

Emilee

LOL im part of that 3% :cheer:

after what happened in january i think it was fair, no matter what context it was used in it still wasnt right for Emily to say what she did
even though it was not meant in a nasty way, some people watching may take offence and if C4 didnt do anything they would be accused of starting another race row
im just glad they acted so swiftly

i dont like emily but i dont think she should have been ejected for something stupid like that. i think she meant it in a fun way and i think that its unfair, especially seen as though black people say it themselves and in songs so other people should be aloud to say it. its not fair at all

plus i would have rather seen her evicted on friday night

Endemol are under extreme pressure, because of CBB5 & the past race furore.

It is a shame to see Emily thrown out like this, but there was no choice on the matter.

It had to happen & did happen.

She got what she deserved, Wether she meant it as an insult or not. It doesn't change the fact that she said it. Charley and Nicky seemed offended by the comment so they obviously saw it as an insult.

Agree, surely she must of seen all the drama during CBB and yet she makes a comment like that she's got what she's deserved.

Of couse CBB had to do with it, because it was since then that these rules were imposed, and rightly so. Plus, housemates were reminded of rules before entering. I think it was right, and even more so after watching it myself last night, and then subsequently BBBM. She really should've thought twice before speaking, but hopefully that'll happen in the house now. Saying all that though, I still felt bad for her having to leave in the way she did - such a shame that all of it was given up simply through her being stupid.

Considering how much I disliked her before, this whole episode if anything has made me feel a lot of sympathy for Emily. However, on a different note, she could well have been evicted today anyway based on the recent arguments, but the difference here is that I actually felt bad for her.

Fair because she said that word which is disgusting.
BUT she has been punished so she doesn't need any hassle from now on.
