[Agriculture minister George Eustice has resigned over Theresa May's decision
to allow a vote on delaying Brexit if her deal is rejected
again by MPs.

There is nothing we don't know now about Brexit that will suddenly become clear by delaying it two months. We won't find a miracle solution, parliament won't suddenly find a consensus and the EU won't finally budge by asking again in May rather than in March. If anything a delay provides them less incentive to make concessions as they believe that by holding firm we will just continue to delay and delay Brexit and ultimately Remain. That's also why I don't think they would allow a delay of only a couple of months, they'd want to make it two years and then its five years after the vote and we still haven't left the EU..

I'm starting to take the view that better a horrible ending than unending horror, if MPs reject May's deal - the only deal - then we have to accept No Deal as the outcome and then at least we will actually know where we are and can focus all our attention on minimising the disorder as much as possible
