Back in the days of Jade people wrote to magazines, complained about her appearing on certain shows and stopped buying things she was in or doing. Do you think Emily now has no chance of making it big and will people treat her like Jade for that one silly comment?
Jade had her house windows allegely smashed, and was shouted down in the street will all this now happen to Emily?

I've not thought about that, but she's not likely to be respected.
Luckily for her, she's not as famous as Jade so the likely outcome is that people won't really bother with her at all and she'll disappear into the oblivion.

She may well get a bit of trouble from it, I'm not sure but she may be best served staying out of the limelight for a while, other than to apologise.

I don't think so, Emily did it out of stupidity.. Jade did it out of just being plain horrible.

Plus Emily got out quickly.. which may be a good thing for her.

But our her chances in life more limited now? Would you personally hire her for a job? Should she be given a second chance? Will she come out and say sorry right away or stand up for it being intented as a joke?

I doubt she will be as hated as Jade since she's managed to fool a fair few people into respecting her by advertising her supposed intellect and as Ash mentioned, she's not as famous as Jade. I think she'll still have a lot of admirers...

She'll get some aggro for sure. Remember, Grace was slapped in the street. She's bought it on herself so I have no sympathy.

Nah, I think she'll get back to normal life and stay out of the limelight.

But also Grace went on another reality show and won didn't she? So even though she was disliked she won back some people by doing that other thing.

True, although Grace was bitchy, and Emily was using racist language. It's difficult to forgive that more I think.

I think to compare this incident to the CBB incident is ludicrous . Shilpa was clearly upset and offended by Jade's bullying, whereas Charley took no offence to Emily's comment. I do, however, think that Emily must have the worst timing in the world, she probably knew all about the incident in January and to think that she could say such a word whatever the context and not be punished for it is very naive.
Anyway, no, i don't think Emily will be treated the same as Jade because she didn't say it with intent to upset Charley.

I don't think so although the press will go to town on her for a while and then leave her alone, but I can see it doing any good for her career in the Theater.

It wasn't like she said it in a bad way, but saying at all was bad enough. Before CBB5 she would have got a final warning for it and that would have been that. Now the Producers have no option but to come down hard.

I bet Jade Gobby won't be to happy about all this, he name is bound to get mentioned in the press again and some people will blame her for Emily's departure.

I'm trying to think if the word had been used in a Big Brother show before now. Can anyone remember if it has been?

I think Victor might have said it once...

I think Anthony, Maxwell, Victor...the "N" word isn't new to big brother they have let it happen previously but since Shilpa they are still trying tobring back viewers etc.

I thought it had been used before and I was thinking of Victor as a person it was used at or used by.

Thanks you DiscoGnome and GlitterEyes for being able to answer my question.

Just because Charley wasn't upset does not mean that viewers would not be upset.

I don't see this being treated in the same way as the Jade thing to be honest, i will be suprised if the producers even show everything that has happend especially after what happend during CBB.
