Of course it will be age appropriate. These youngsters will just be made aware that it’s quite normal for you to love someone of the same sex/gender.
They are not going to be taught anything ruddy sex explicit, just about different relationships.

This is what happens when people stop speaking out for fear of being called racist, this group of parents feel they can dictate with no consequence, if this had been a Christian group of parents protesting, this would have been quite rightly shut down from the get go, instead it is gathering momentum

If teaching children that some people are gay and others are not in the context of chaste fairy tales isn't age appropriate, I don't know what is.
Do these parents care when their children watch any fairy tale Disney film with a romance at it's centre? Those parents probably wouldn't blink at Beauty and the Beast yet here they are crying about fairy tales in which a prince falls for another prince, Beastiality is A-okay (As long as it's heterosexual!) but a chaste gay relationship? REEEEEEEE.

IMO Young children should not be taught any form of sex education, let kids be kids and innocent

It's not sex education though, it's literally just fairy tales in which two princes or two princesses fall in love instead of a prince and a princess. Teaching kids that some people love the opposite sex and and other people love the same sex is not a bad thing, it's not lewd or ill fitting for children to learn that people love who they love.
making an issue out of something is the worst thing that parents can do in these situations. If they had let it go it would have been forgotten in 30 seconds
This furore will be nothing compared to the gay backlash if straights start doing the readings in school.
