After the big deal they made of the race thing in CBB having another racist incident just a few days into the next BB series will look really bad. You don't think this could damage BB perminantly, make the entire show (or the next series) be canceled do you?

In a word, no. You will see from the highlights show that there was no malicious intent and there is no need for cancellation as such.

Nope, it will stay going!

I don't think so. They have acted swiftly and correctly IMO.

BB acted quickly and removed her. They couldn't have done much more, in fact there are some suggesting they overreacted and shouldn't have removed her. I think they had no option but to.

I can't see the future of BB being threatened by this.

I can't seeing doing any harm. Channel 4 will look good for acting so fast to get Emily out of the house.

They didn't even give her time to get dressed and she left in her night shirt and not much else.

besides people understanding that emily did not mean it in a malicious way, channel 4 have dealt with the issue correctly so they will not come under criticism.

I doubt it, because it has a lot of viewers and they dealt with this situation very well.

I agree.

As others have said, I don't think there was any malicious intent in what was said, from what I gather.

But for Channel 4, it's better to be safe than sorry. Another race incident would more than likely kill the show.

To keep it alive they need to be extremely careful.

who thinks they overreacted. if she had said the p word to a asian person noone would have said that. it's almost like you can say what you want to black people and it's always seen as a joke. why?:conf:

No they have a contract until BB11, this year the producers didn't make the same mistake as CBB5: to keep Jade, Danielle and Jo in the house. Now they decided to evict Emily because the producers did not want a new scandal ! For them, it's over now !

Check out the poll on this thread for example.

1 thinks it was an unfair punishment and about 6 or 7 think it should have been a different punishment. You'll have to ask them why, cos I think they did the right thing and they had to remove her!!

Sorry to all those people here who are Emily fans... but I am SO glad she was removed. I strongly disliked her since her video when entering the house and she just went downhill from then, on in with her lies, bragging and bitchyness.

I would never have suspected she was a RACIST though, I personally cannot stand racism - i think there is no place for it in our modern society.

The N word that Emily used is very degrading and offensive, no matter how many "rap songs" she may or may not listen to which contain that word, does not excuse it.

I feel your loss though (the emily fans) it's a great shame this has happened, she should have given herself the fair trial and would have probably won against shabnam on friday (despite me wasting 2£ on trying to vote out emily :P )I just think she's shot herself in the foot here, and could become quite hated outside.

Let's just hope her boyfriend will stand by her - even though Emily insisted she was "single" on big brother. I think she's gonna need all the support she can get.

The fact that Emily did not say the word in a malicious way and bb acted quickly should mean bb is safe (hopefully)

I hope Big Brother isnt taken off the air but Big Brother has already been in trouble for this same racist behaviour and now its happened again. I think Emily did mean what she said as she wouldnt of said that comment if she was joking around. This is very serious and I think Big Brother and Channel 4 are going to be in alot of trouble even if they acted quickly this time I dont think it will make a difference.

I am glad Emily has been thrown out of the house. Nobody needs behaviour like that in the house from scum like her. I hope she gets everything thats coming to her like getting arrested and charged for racism.

There's not really going to be the uproar of CBB as it's all been sorted out and there's nothing to really complain about now that she has gone, it's not like they let things drag on.

i'm just suprised that someone who called themself "highly intelligent" in their video would think it was "ok" to be racist in the big brother house, especially after the CBB fiasco.

Maybe emily isnt so intelligent afterall? Just a dumb, stuck-up racist it seems.

i don't get how some people are saying that she didn't mean it like you know her or something. who would not know that the 'n' word is wrong in this day and age must be stupid. if your child used that word would you accept it or should black people put up with anything now. put youself in other peoples shoes if you were called that word by white racists all your life would you laugh.(and please don't bring stupid rappers in this most black people in the real world never use that word)

Charley has used the word in the house, does it suddenly become acceptable then? Why can Charley use the word and Emily can't? If one gets punished, they should both be punished.

Double standads is not acceptable.

I am sure BB will go on but in name only as it is this year. The ruling by Ofcom in effect bans reality....
