From April porn sites will direct you to another page where you will have to enter personal info to prove your age or you will be able to buy a porn pass from the co op and other paypoint locations. Which would you rather do if you watch porn or will you use proxies etc to get around it? And is this a reasonable measure to safeguard children or excessive interference which will make law abiding adults force between giving up information that could be hacked or the embarrassment of asking Jill at your local newsagent if you can please have a porn pass

The UK's porn block is due to come into effect next month, forcing web users to prove their age before accessing X-rated content.

From April, anyone attempting to access Pornhub, YouPorn and several other adult sites from a UK device will be*redirected to a non-pornographic "landing page",operated by AgeID.

I'd advise everyone to get a decent VPN, THE UK is getting worse and worse with net censorship. They've been blocking torrent sites (even legit ones) for a couple of years now.

You can usually pick up a 12 month VPN sub for about $30 USD (£25 ish) and then you won't be blocked from any site or need any orwellian "pass" :umm2:. Plus they can't track your activity. It's pretty much an essential for unrestricted net access these days IMO.

But I'd recommend a good paid one as the free ones slow down your connection, and paid ones are pretty cheap (they're CONSTANTLY on "for a limited time only!" deals... The one I use has been $29.99 a year "reduced from 99.99" for at last count... 4 years straight)

The larger reputable ones don't keep logs in the first place, guaranteed contractually, meaning you can sue them if they did share any information. And also if they shared any log it would literally destroy their business over night as they would lose every single customer.

Frankly the suggestion that one should trust a UK based ISP with sensitive data over a reputable VPN is insanity.
