just seen this, we dont need this kind of 'fan' attending games, ban for life coming up for him
Possibly an assault charge as well and having his face plastered all over the news
Question is what punishment do Birmingham receive
Grealish has now just put Villa 1-0 up

You cant blame Birmingham for one reckless idiot

Clubs have a responsibility to control their fans
An assault charge incoming i would have thought, and Birmingham need a serious fine

Watched it live with smallest boy LT, shocking, the guy could have had a knife. Some Hibs muppet did the same thing to the Rangers Captain on Friday night and Tav dealt with him petty swiftly, they had to pull him away from the fan before he battered him into the turf. Disgusting Hibs but no surprise from that shower

There has been some fans attacking their own fans while pretending to support rival clubs to make them look bad

Cos that's worth a prison sentence, a criminal record, probably a ban from all football grounds and being all over the news for it :skull:

But the initial blame was put on the rival fans and it may just be someone who dislikes Grealish from either side or not even a fan, games are easy to get into these days and the pitch easy to be invaded

On paper I'm guessing that we'll get a fine.
I'm really pissed off at this fan tbh as a lot of people will tarnish all Blues fans as the same when I would never do anything like that to a Footballer, even if Grealish is deeply unlikeable and a cheat.
Hopefully the fan will be banned for life.

You wouldn't get this in Rugby League, Rugby league fans can all mingle and talk with each other. Football is for scum, played by scum.
Make Rugby League your number 1 sport, but don't bring your football thugary with you.
that was my advertisement to gain fans for rugby league

Sounds dullDon’t be silly, if it's fights you're after, there's always the odd ones on the pitch, proper fights too, none of your handbags pushing and shoving. It makes Yankee football look like tidly winks

Gary Neville saying that we should get punished.:nono:
The last time that I checked the club didn't hire the fan to attack Grealish and you cannot realistically be expected to be able to control thousands of fans from not being a thug, the fan is an adult at the end of the day and he has his own mind, so he should know that he shouldn't be attacking somebody because they play for the opposition.
He looked of an age of a man that should know better...what a tool.

Oh a thing that's genuinely pissed me off with Gary Neville tonight was his comment about “how he has never seen anything like it” when we've seen just in the last two seasons a bunch of Croatian fans with Swastika's around their ground which caused a behind closed doors match against England, a Millwall fan slashing an Everton fan in the face, and Columbia's dispicable display against England with the thuggery and the Columbian fans cheering it on.
I get that Gary Neville works for the Villa channel, but don't try to make out that the Blues fan has done the worst thing that you've ever seen in Football when we all know that that's not true.
Btw that's not excusing the Blues fan's actions, but I'm just making a fair point that Gary Neville shouldn't be spreading propaganda against a club, especially when it's not true what he is saying.

Birmingham should have a points deduction, it's the only thing severe enough that'll work as a deterrent.
And I'm bored of hearing all this "but it was just one idiot!!!" - watch the clip again and you see 95-99% of the fans cheering him on, laughing it up. A very sorry and sad day for the sport, and like I said, an example needs to be made.

Exactly but conveniently no points deductions were discussed at the time I bet even though it was one of the players that was getting violent.
Conveniently common sense seems to go out of the window when it comes to us.
Mystic Mock
11-03-2019, 06:18 PM
Also this logic of collective punishment makes no sense either as nobody from the club was helping the fan attack Grealish so it would be incredibly harsh to dock points from the club when the club did nothing wrong.
It would be like punishing Mcdonald's when a fight breaks out in one of their Restaurants between two customers, it would make no logical sense to punish McDonald's, like it makes no logical sense to punish Birmingham over this.
Also are people trying to tell me that what that fan did was worse than what the Millwall fan did to the Everton fan in the FA Cup? Because going by the collective punishment argument shouldn't Millwall have a points deduction?
Also when Man Utd and Newcastle fans inevitably do something wrong I want Gary Neville and Alan Shearer to be the first to call for the “severe punishment needs to be done” argument like they've tried to fling at us, but I doubt that they'd say anything.

Arsenal had their own pitch invader that did make a run to get to Chris Smalling and the security was nowhere in sight, so by your very own argument that should mean that Arsenal gets a points deduction which I don't agree with as you can't realistically control every fans actions.
Most of the fans that attend these grounds are grown adults and shouldn't need a Football Club to tell them right from wrong.

Wasn't this Birmingham fan supposed to already have a lifetime ban? Plus he actually punched him whilst the Arsenal guy just ran up to him and laughed in his face. Hardly comparable.

The Arsenal fan didn't hit Smalling because Smalling had spotted him running up to him beforehand, where as sadly for Grealish he didn't spot our fan in time which led to him being punched.
Also the argument that has been used against us by a lot of people which should also be used against Arsenal and Hibs was that the Stewards were slow to respond to the pitch invasion, and what if the fan was carrying a weapon?
My point anyway is just because there was a slight difference in how it all played out between Birmingham's pitch invader actually being successful in attacking Grealish whilst Arsenal's pitch invader failed to attack Smalling doesn't mean that the intent wasn't there from the Arsenal fan and whatever punishment we get Arsenal should also get the same.
