Conor McGregor arrested in Miami Beach after 'smashing fan's £750 phone'

UFC superstar Conor McGregor was arrested outside a Miami Beach hotel while in the US to celebrate his mum's 60th birthday.
McGregor is currently being held on $12,500 (£944) bond at Miami-Dade County's Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.

According to a Miami Beach police spokesman, McGregor is being charged with strong-armed robbery and misdemeanor criminal mischief.
It's claimed that the Irishman smashed the phone of a man at around 5am on Monday morning, after the fan had been taking photos of McGregor.
Police say the altercation is alleged to have taken place outside the nightclub Liv - housed in the Fontainebleu hotel.

It's alleged that McGregor slapped the phone out of his victim's hand, before stomping on it. He then picked up the $1,000 (£755) phone and walked away with it, according to police.
The incident was caught on surveillance video and while McGregor was not arrested at the scene, he was tracked down at a Miami Beach house later on Monday.

Most peoples phones are worth £500+ at least, it's just that these days mobile contracts are factored in as essential bills like gas an electricity so we don't really think about it unless the damn thing gets broken before the end of the contract.

i always buy my phone and then get a good sim only deal. That works best for me. Cant be doing with the phone company taking the same amount each month long after the phone is paid off. Particularly applicable looking to the future as the reasons to upgrade tend toward zero
