That Emily Parr wasn't the only one to use the word.....but she was the only white one....
so why is it that she's gone yet the other person hasn't?
If it's an offensive word then it shouldn't matter what colour you are.
your thoughts (let's try to keep it intelligent)

I think the other person who said it was Charley herself, wasn't it?

Well, I said this before in reply to another thread - why is it okay for Charley to say it and not Emily? Is it not an insult to Charley that Emily's in **** for it and she's not? Think about that. C4 might as well be the ones calling Charley the same thing Emily called her. I'm sorry if I've offended anyone or if that doesn't look right to you but I know what I mean and hopefully others will too.

When did Charley say it?

I think Charley used the word in conversation not directed at anyone, Emily directed at Charley which is totally different

I know yeah, because as far as I'm aware she said it after Emily did - read the transcript. The last line. If she said it before that, then I apologise and I didn't realise, but as far as I'm aware that's the only time she said it, after being prompted.
EDIT: Sunny, that makes a lot more sense.

that's the way I feel, I can't believe that they have kept Charley in (because she's black) and it's ok for black people to call each other the N word.....er.....no....I think most black people will say the exact opposite of that.
yet because Emily is white, and said the N word she is being punished....I'm not sure if I should feel a little offended at that....in fact I think I do....
and I'm not defending the use of the word I think they were both a little silly saying it in a house with cameras.....I'm just a little pissed off

Not just silly because of the cameras, silly because of the disaster that was CBB.

Sky news the way they said it was after the word was said and Charley said to Emily "you are in trouble" Emily said "I'm not the only person who's said it" Charley replies "Yeah me....I'm a N"

No I feel that the punishment is not justified if someone else has also said the offensive word and is still in there
I still like Emily....but that was a stupid thing to say, even if it was meant as a friendly bit of banter
Charley and Emily seemed to be quite friendly with one another.

From what I can gather its the only time Charley said it - she sounds like she did not like it as soon as it was said to be honest which is understandable

if that was the only time Charley said the word then i see no problem. Surely she can be allowed to use the word in the context she used it.

not really if the word is deemed offensive by channel 4, then the word is offensive....no matter how you say it...or who you say it to.
