View Full Version : How should I spend my summer?
I’m on my penultimate year at uni and summer is approaching! I’ve made some internship applications and got more to make but already had soooo many rejections. I’m terrified I won’t get one. Equally, I’m not even really sure I want one.
All I know is I don’t wanna be stuck in my small hometown for the whole summer.
Suggestions ladies?!

It’s acrually stressing me out :(
This is basically the last chance you get in life to enjoy a summer where you are completely free to do anything you want for weeks on end, why would you want an internship

Head down, (not sucking the bobby for money i may add in an edit)head for that early retirement, eat well and enjoy tens of summers in later life still feeling young fit and healthy.
Buy a jockstrap though.

Well you should do what you do best

I have been led to believe that it’s the only way I can get a job
Part of me is so scared of not having the option of a well-paid corporate job and the other half is so scared of being trapped in said job. I just don’t know if it’s me.

Honestly?
If you've got the funds, get in a car/on a plane with a few mates who are up for it and just go somewhere for a few weeks or a month or so, one last adventure. May never get the chance again.
I had the opportunity to go with some mates just after uni doing Route 66 and up and down California for about a month, just us lot in a car, staying at Motels and living off fast-food but something came up that prevented me going and I'll regret that forever.

Norwegian is doing cheap flights to rio at the moment, just go see, see how far you get, can live comfortably off £20 a day including travelling around South America.

I'd take a trip or vacation as long as you can afford it
A few months over the summer shouldn't make that big of an impact on your future and it'll be a lot more difficult to take a long trip like that once you get settled into a job so go for it while you can :clap1:

Get a job.
Become a Butlins Red Coat.
this will likely be your last opportunity to have a long holiday for 40 years, so I would suggest you enjoy it.
