Like I'm at work right now and I'm currently in the back office, I said I was doing paperwork and sorting out emails, and I have the tablet sitting on front of me open on an email but actually there is no paperwork or emails and I'm drinking my third coffee and eating Tangfastics and posting this and watching YouTube.

... Is this normal or am I immoral? :worry:

I do this a ton but usually it's simply to text some people / check social media quickly when I'm not supposed to be on break (like 5-10 mins, sometimes a bit longer).

I think it's pretty normal tho  All my other co-workers do it too from what I can tell. If no one in "charge" is even around, then there are times where I'll slack off for up to a few hours of barely doing any actual work.

Afaik there's no cameras where I work lol.. :worry:There are cameras here - but not in the back :hehe:.

The guy I have on this evening is useless and also literally never talks... So I feel justified just letting him sit there? He can't do too much damage and if he needs to make even a very minor decision he'll come looking for help anyway. Siiiigh.

Not really, I used to do it all the time at my old work but I only trust few and far between at my work now and I don’t fancy being grassed in to my manager.

When I worked at the BBC in White City I would gather a handfull of papers in my arms and folders and go off on an adventure around the BBC - if you move quick and look angry everyone just thinks you are going to a meeting and you become invisible - its like entering a 4th dimension of business. I used to go all over and see all sorts

I hide in plain sight. I manage all the social streams for work so can be on FB, Twitter etc for longish periods legitimately......or I could just be having a browse, stalk. My workplace is pretty laid back, if you get your work done then they are pretty chilled with what you get up to. Although, as there is a commission element to what I earn, the harder I work the more I get so I tend not to skive too much lol

Every job I had I have had a hiding place  Not to skive off and go on YT or whatever, but just somewhere to disappear to when customers got too much
