I don't drink coffee so I base this on how every chain's version of a "hot chocolate" is:
Costa: very dependable, very nice, solid 8/10
Starbucks: a bit too mild and not very chocolatey. 5/10. Very good frappucinos though.
Cafe Nero: the best of the big brands. hits the spot :clap1: and I don't think the others have a "stamp" free drink scheme? 10/10
Greggs: cheaper than the rest and...it tastes like it. too sweet. 5/10.
Pret: seemed fine the one time I tried it, nothing special. 7/10.
I do not know of any independent stores nearby but I think "Boston Tea Party" is a Devon/Cornwall chain and theirs is excellent too. 10/10.

Can't vote in this one, Red because I truly don't care. Whichever coffee shop is nearest when I fancy a coffee, that's the one I choose.

Costa just from the chains, but my favourite is an independent one is Maison de la Vie in Kilburn

Costa has a strangle hold on the coffee shop market.

I tend to go for a Greggs coffee if I fancy one. They taste a bit more like instant coffee and shoot me but I prefer it!

Good, it's a British company. Nice to see at least one British company thriving.

There is nothing nicer when it comes to coffee than two spoons of Nescafe Gold. So you're not alone, Daniel, I also prefer it to fresh coffee.

Erm, I hate coffee so the answer is for tea. Honestly, I rather my own kitchen than any of the overpriced shops. It always ends up tasting dead weird elsewhere...and costa don't ever give enough milk and their teapots have like 2 and a half cups in which is too much, and some other issues, along with paying 4 quid for a cup of tea /grinch :joker:

I rarely go for a coffee unless I'm trying to kill time, don't have a favourite where ever is near at that particular time

Ooo yeah, you only get a proper cup of tea at home. It's bad enough in cafes in this country, but tea in other countries... it's the worst.

Ugh yes, having just got back from Lanzarote, I can confirm this is definitely true! Mind, Gavin absolutely loves the coffees in other countries, says they are much better than here but his issue is, they are always served in such small cups theres only like 2 mouthfuls so he ends up buying like 5 to make a full cup :D

I will never have tea anywhere else but at home, even at friends houses. No-one makes it right apart from me as I am very particular (dead strong and exactly the right sized splash od red top milk only). Tried tea on holiday once in Spain - it was the worst thing I had ever tasted (and they said that it was Yorkshire tea but it was the weakest, tasteless brew I had ever tasted :yuk:)

The only place I tend to have it except home is at my mums. And I only do that as she gets really offended if you keep saying no, even hers is wrong!

Costa is probably slightly better than Starbucks and the one I go to most, I've always thought Nero do the best coffee but they're less common and seem to mainly just be in cities so haven't been to one in ages. Poncey Londoners can keep their Pret

Mhm, but there’s something about drinking/eating something that someone else has made for you. Especially if you’re like me and only drink decaf.

If someone is going to make you tea (sorry Red, I know this is about coffee), we should all carry a shade chart, like a paint shade chart, to show them what colour it should be. The way I wouldn't be subject to any more insipid tea, where it's so weak, you don't know if there's a hair on the top or a crack on the bottom.

Very rarely as they are too expensive.

Starbucks is like Domino's, very expensive for basic bordering on sh*te.
Costa is lovely though. Rare I'll go in one though.
I dont drink coffee and rarely drink tea if out (doesn't taste right), so for hot choc I would say Cafe Nero or Tim Hortons
