He's running on a strong platform and if Trump handles him wrong then he's potentially handing the election over to the democrats.

Trump's base will support him no matter what but he only won last time with an assist from Russia in making Hillary look so bad that that a lot of moderates and floaters voted for Trump as well. I don't think Trump's gonna be able to play that same game against someone like Bernie or Pete.

Veering into homophobia is he is likely to do will only scare away more of the swing voters he needs.
