Does seem like a big rise in attitudes like these lately, I can't say I'm surprised really, racism seems to be back in fashion again these days

Disagree. I think people feel more like they're "allowed" to air their racist views now since it's in fashion. Even the POTUS is a big old racist these days

The face Drogon makes when statistics show racism and far right criminality is on the rise but you brush it off as "news gold"

Racism isn't in fashion that is ridiculous
Give people anonymity online and there will be those who will express hateful views, take away anonymity and people police themselves

Statistics aren't produced by LBC, and that's not even a good attempt at sidestepping the issue.

People are spiteful.
I've felt angry when my team has lost a game before (as have many of us) but never have most of us ever felt the need to verbally abuse the players online just because they lost a Football match, why on earth is anybody taking Football so seriously as to want to be racist to a Footballer in the first place?

Agree with this. There was a very noticeable change, around the time of the Brexit campaign. And before anyone starts, thats not saying leavers are racist, just...a lot of attitudes seemed to shift on what was 'allowed' to be said out loud. I can never understand when people claim not to have noticed this tbh..but each to their own I guess.

The world does seem to be going backwards tbh.
Not only the current political climate that's brought racists out of the woodwork but also the rise of social media where you can hide behind a keyboard and say anything without having to worry about the backlash.

Agree :clap1:
It’s pathetic when people act like this towards players on social media, I mean what do you really have to gain from it?

Exactly, these people need to get a grip of themselves.
