a shop filters dream
I was scan and go and lottery in asda and SO many people were on the rob in scan and go. Once I had to rescan a woman's shopping and she hadn't scanned any alcohol, meat or perfume and they just kick off at us leave the shop and come in another day on the rob again
When we rescanned her whole shop it was £300 odd quid and she had only scanned just under £100 of stuff its shocking

Seen it myself where there are tills with staff with no queue and they are all queueing for self scan, that should be enough to get the warning bells ringing for shop managers you would think

Yeah you'd think so but I am still friendly with people I worked with from there and management seem oblivious to it all
Perhaps having less staff means loss through theft is recouped from wages saved or something idk

I'd rather just go to self scan cos it's less awkward conversations :hehe:
But then someone always has to come over anyway cos it says I have an unidentified item in the bagging area when I don't :(

Haven't been sacked but I don't particularly get on with one of my managers. The other manager loves me though :smug:

yep, a friend of mine went into a bank a few years ago and went to the counter and the woman behind directed her to the self service tills when she told her she was putting herself out of a job the woman just smirked, no smirking now the bank has 2 counter staff from about 10

I hate the self scan things, if I ever decide to go through them, it’s cause I’m in a rush, I might as well go to a human with the amount of time that’s wasted waiting for assistance

I preferred when self scan was literally just for people had a couple of items to fly through instead of queuing behind Mary with 3 trolleys.
But now it's all bloody self scan. Ridiculous.
What you done and not got the sack?

Same as mine....people would think I'm bulls hitting if I listed my best is at work.
Self scan tills will put people out of work soon
People always say this but retail has changed so much that companies kinda need self service tills to cut their costs or they might not be able to keep their shops open at all.. it's just the reality that there's gonna be fewer and fewer people employed in retail but its better to have some people employed in a shop that remains open than no people employed..

I almost did for telling a customer to shut the fook up and get back in her kennel after she kept constantly complaining over things that didnt need complaining over and was being a rude bitch.
But I got away with a warning and had to write and apology letter which I didnt actually write as I refused but a manager I was good mates with did it for me and saved my bacon

All that means is that large supermarket companies are not willing to take a cut in profits to sustain jobs that humans can do am lot better than I can when faced by all those screen choices..many a time I've just walked and left it all just sitting there behind me..

No but I've had a few verbal teabags of toy soldier on tibb a few times.
