I remember watching the episode where he gets a pair of squeaky boots and after about 2 minutes my mum was going mental

My nephews were obsessed with pingu too so it was on constantly, I didn't mind it though.

However they were also obsessed with Johnny Bravo I hated that ****

Apparently I actually called my nan “nanny pingu” because she had the video cassettes round her house :joker:

Yeah, Johnny was a bit irritating (as was the whole Elvis impersonation shtick)

the 40s nd 50s era Tom and Jerry were the best and the template for just about everything that came after. As a boy i hated the cartoons of the 60s and70s as they were poorly drawn, cheaper imitations. They ruined Tom and Jerry by cost cutting

Special mention must go to Marine Boy, Whacky Races and Dastardy and Mutley

Agreed. The earlier episodes were great this one being one of my favourites, the song was so catchy.

Cartoon Network for all the retro classics...

Tom & Jerry (liked the movie with the steamboat, where they talked, too)
The Flintstones
Looney Tunes... Roadrunner, Elmer & Bugs, Foghorn Leghorn
The Jetsons
Scooby Doo, Where Are You? (And sadly the version with Scrappy, too)

But also the 90s ones:

Animaniacs
Johnny Bravo
Dexter's Laboratory

Courage the Cowardly Dog
Powerpuff Girls

And then on Nickelodeon I loved Rugrats, Hey Arnold + the Wild Thornberries.

Classic! My favourites were The Ant Hill Mob, Penelope Pitstop, The Gruesome Twosome and Professor Pat Pending.

And watching Dick Dastardly make a fool out of himself in every episode was hilarious.

The soundtrack alone makes Hey Arnold! superior - fits the gritty, inner-city setting so well!
