Supermarket Under Fire Over "Gay Sandwich"

[Marks & Spencer have revealed
their take on an inclusive sandwich
by adding in guacamole to help spell
out the acronym
LGBT - Lettuce, Guacamole, Bacon and Tomato.
The supermarket are facing accusations
of exploiting LGBT community after
introducing the "gay sandwich" to help celebrate Pride.
The sandwich, sold in a
rainbow-coloured box,
similar to the pride flag, is bacon,
lettuce and tomato sandwich
with added guacamole, marketed as an LGBT.
An M&S spokesman
said: "M&S Food is celebrating
Pride season this year and
has launched a special
limited-edition LGBTQ+ sandwich."]

I think the sandwich is 4.00? quite pricey so 10,000 isn't a very big donation

Currently the UK sandwich market is worth £3 billion - representing 1.8 billion sandwiches - and is growing at around 6each year.

I would imagine M and S have a big slice... of the market?

I mean giving this some thought, using something like LGBT to advertise your sandwiches is kind of tasteless. Excuse the pun.

Its not to celebrate anything, it would be great if it was. It's to sell their products. Seems like a bit of a cynical hijack of something important, tbh.
