if i gave you a plug and a lead with wires poking out could you fix it so it works without going to youtube?

or would you go to youtube

https://www.home-dzine.co.za/diy/images/plug_large.jpg

Knew how to do that when I was 13, I am quite hands on with stuff.I once mended the drum on our washer with a pair of tights, lol

:fan:

He is most likely to do the needlework as well, I'm just not very good with practical stuff like that, I am more the logistical genius

Yes I can wire a plug, change an engine in a car or van. I’d like to be better at diy, like tiling.

You mean you give him the materials and tells him to get on with it or else.

Not sure what that is in the OP but I could maybe do it with youtube's help :fan:

As for jump-starting a car, yeah pretty damn simple lol although I've never had the problem of my car not starting thankfully (or even had to help anyone with it) so I've never actually tried it. Maybe I'd start a fire :hehe:

Literally just now the heater in my office stopped working so i thought well its a closed unit so all i can do is change the fuse so i swapped out the 13 am fuse and hey presto its working again :spin2:

I would give it a try with the help of youtube.

Crimson Dynamo

youtube is brilliant for diy stuff. I drilled a 12" hole in the house outside to inside wall and run electricity cable through and out into the garden using youtube - mainly to make sure i did not drill through gas pipes, water pipes and kill myself via a shock

I have back in the day.
But everything comes with the plug on now.
Besides...hubby enjoys stuff like that.:joker:

Wouldn't that be the forgotten skill then?

The one you describe is still being learned.

Yes I'd say. Just like looking in bushes for porn mags. This lot on here would not know the first thing about that dark art of the 70s

I often wondered who the hell left them there...my guess...paper boys. Thieving little ****s...

But yes, many a hole has been drilled as a lucky adventurous teenager who liked building swings or looking for cheggies.

You can rap a blown fuse in aluminium foil and it will work again, hand if you haven’t got a new fuse.
