I imagine it's related to the way all those complaints made a difference in CBB5. People have noticed that they can make a difference.
It's not something I'd do myself, concerning a TV show, but the fact that democracy is in effect, is a good thing.

Ofcom is the independent regulator and competition authority for the UK communications industries, with responsibilities across television, radio, telecommunications and wireless communications services.

Anyone on this forum who calls Ofcom is a traitor!

I think the people calling offcom aren't just the people defending Emily but the people apposed to the language used by Emily.
So really, your shooting yourself in the foot.
Besides i don't see how it's for anyone else to get concerned about, if someone feels the need to contact offcom it is there choice, calling them names isn't going to solve anything.

The proper definition for Ofcom is that they are a bunch of people that are allowed to censor the public in the name of supposedly protecting the public.
They are a so called independent body that is in part financed by the Government as they don't generate enough money from licencing broadcasters or fining them etc...
They are a body of people who boast about making decisions that are evidence based and sticking to the rules of proportionality in their decion making.....In practice they are stuck in a time warp and a thorn in the side of free expression......Back to the original definition "Public censorship" Sponsored and paid for by the Governments of the day.
Anyone who thinks they are really independent should immediately seek help.......

People are entitled to their own opinion and last year it was a good job OFCOM were there and that people DID complain.
OFCOM will look into all complaints and still if they are justified and if they are then they will do whatever they need to do; If not justified then they will throw them out - It is that simple.

The complaints to the censorship brigade at Ofcom did nothing but bring about more restrictions on broadcasting freedom.....They treat adults like children and some adults are happy to be treated like children......Sadly.....

Agreed Bananarama.
But I do think as time grows it will blow over.
Time is that great healer but we live in the here and now and want change quickly.

I would like to agree with your optimism but can't really. This matter will blow over of course but the control Ofcom has won't and broadcasting will be the worse for it when it comes to showing realty un censored.........
Broadcsaters will be afraid of "fines" and therfore have to censor the public compliments of bad regulators like the government sponsored regime called Ofcom....
