From what I’ve gathered, it got added to the swear filter because some members kept spamming it during BB15? (correct me if wrong) But seeing as that was 5 years ago and those members have left the forum, I think it should be lifted yes (as should the swear filter in general but that’s another story)

I got curious and checked how often it was said and I was going down the list of posts with it in and Raph was responsible for half of them :skull:

Tr ashleigh..I quite liked that being added and wish all the stupid nicknames people come up with were added. Used to make me rage, the amount of people who thought they were funny and original by using stupid stupid nicknames. Also it annoyed me that sometimes, they were SO overused that I would write them by ****ing mistake when posting then have to edit. So I was one of the dickheads too but not on purpose :laugh:

I don't fully remember all the orangu stuff but fairly sure that was banned as a mix of 2 things, one it was being spammed everywhere, like ridiculous spam. 2 a few black members (and one who wasn't black..I think) complained that they found it racist, and I can see why, especially with how it was being used at the time by some (ie. some just spammed it everywhere some only ever used it when it was a thread about someone black). So yeah, not sure that will be removed.

(There were a few variations on orangu too IIRC, which didn't help at all with the 'racist' part)

Ah yeah I think that was right. As I said, I don't properly remember it all (basically remember the spam, and the complaints). Orangu was just spammed none stop by a few members and was annoying as **** and just..pointless, then the version that some found offensive appeared and was spammed, so the lot was filtered.
