I honestly don't understand the thrill of potentially killing yourself and making yourself seriously ill just to say you've climbed a mountain.
Climb Snowdon or something you'll be up and down before teatime! :joker:

No they actually pay about £8,000 each and have to book - its so ridiculous there's such a human traffic jam it kills them . Nevermind though story seems to be they died doing what they enjoyed ??? Beyond me.

I have a friend whose house has a view of Everest ... what a view!
When Everest was un-conquered by man, I could see the point in it .... now it's just like an adventure week away from work so I don't get it, certainly not something worth losing your life over.

There needs to be a (strict) limit on how many expeditions can legally be heading up at one time. The idea of hundreds of people "queueing" at bottlenecks is utterly ridiculous. And yeah, I think people who want to go up should have to provide evidence that they've successfully reached the peak of other large mountains.

I didnt think any mountain climber would want to queue to get to the top, they look ridiculous not to mention the danger
...it’s not just a race for the top but a race for the bottom with the bottlenecking...with that altitude which humans bodies are not adaptable to, its like being on a timer really...and some bodies just won’t survive it at all and some wont be able to survive delays of any kind...I don’t know what the answer is, as TS said...definitely no ‘first timers’ may be something ...but people would find a way if they’re determined so I’m just not sure...
