[Extinction Rebellion activists are
threatening to shut down
Heathrow Airport with drones.
The climate change protest group
vowed to stage a one-day demonstration
in June and then 10 further days in July
- unless the government cancels plans
for expanding the airport.
Ten days of protests across central London
in April saw 1,130 people arrested
for various offences.
Heathrow Airport said the plan
was "reckless" and could
"endanger lives".]
Drones again?

The drones or protesters?
Drones, naturally. No one's advocating anyone being shot.

Not the stinky brigade again.
They'll smell even worse in the Summer heat.
I'm glad they're not coming up my neck of the woods.

Its not as serious as flying here and back to the US to protest about people flying
Guy on the radio last night from this lot who was justifying it by saying they're giving notice to people to change their flights or cancel them then it turned out he'd got a holiday to Sweden coming up in a few weeks time

It’s time the organisers were arrested.
They’ve already threatened to endanger civilian aircraft....An act of terrorism.

Yup. A genuine eco warrier who absolutely does not want publicity more than anything else. Like, how on earth can you protest about flights and the environment..while taking very long flights backwards and forwards to do so?

Sounds about right. There was some environmental protest here not that long ago and they were like..really really lecturing people about plastic, dropping rubbish, etc. Yet, in the middle of it all they must have gone to lunch..as when I came back along they all had crisps packets, sandwich boxes and such. They then upped and left to go wherever (probably in cars.. ) and just left all the litter on the statue. Give them their dues, a couple of the people actually put their rubbish away, but the vast majority didn't. Kind of makes you wonder quite why they are so het up on it doesn't it..if they refuse to do the stuff they demand others do ( I mean, its a Very Bad Thing to buy packaged sandwiches apparently, and thats before even getting into the rest of the stupidity.). Can't have genuine concern about global warming else..would not do stuff like that. Or take what..10k mile round trips to join in on telling people off for flying/driving/etc. Hailed a bloody hero too rather than a hypocrite.
The Sweden guy will be happy for all others to be inconvenienced, but if the protests are still going when hes due to fly, bet his attitude sharp shifts.

I would imagine the police will have a record of every drone sold in the UK the last year...
This form of protest is almost terrorism as well...I urge these people to think twice

Hopefully these idiots are sent straight to prison and the drones are shot down because it's what they deserve. This is basically terrorism as they're endangering other peoples lives and disrupting their travel plans.
What these scumbags need to realise is that there are reasons why people travel everyday and it's not just holidays and leisure-related stuff, there are people who NEED to fly due to reasons such as business, medical treatment, to see elderly/sick/dying relatives etc.
If my flight was cancelled just because of a bunch of brainwashed tree-hugging fools flying toy drones around the airport, i'd be disgusted and pissed off and I'm sure that any other rational and civilised human being would. :fist: :fist:
All in all, this "peaceful protest" is just pathetic and puerile and the imbecile protesters involved in this idiocy deserve to be punished severely.

Heathrow climate change drone protest arrests rise to 19
[Police say those arrested range in age
from 19 to 69.
A 53-year-old man who was
arrested on Friday was re-arrested
on Saturday. He remains in police custody.
Heathrow Pause had previously said it
intended to fly drones within the 5km
exclusion zone around the airport
on Friday morning, but the group
claimed the airport was using
"signal jamming to frustrate" their efforts.]
