Thing is, what do they expect Mexico to do, rising taxes or whatever is all well and good, but the people who try to cross illegally give not a crap about that (and tend to have nothing to actually take, from what I have seen) so..its punishing everyone else for the sake of a few? As if the immigrants are suddenly going to stop and think 'Well, if I try this and am caught, Barbara down the road will have to pay a bit more tax, so obviously I won't do it!'

The white house rapist doesn't understand that you can't keep citizens within a country that they don't want to be in unless you want to go down the path of North Korea which, given how much of a dictatorship apologist that rapist is, he probably thinks that is a good idea.

It's not down to a country to stop it's citizens from leaving but logic doesn't matter when this move is just meant to appeal to his racist fan base that just sees this as him 'hurting the right people' as his fanbase was famously quoted as saying.
