Lesley set to quit house todayLESLEY is due to quit the house this morning, we can reveal.

The unhappy 60-year-old yesterday begged Big Brother to let her go. She agreed to leave without any fuss.

A show source said: “Lesley went into the Diary Room at 1.30pm and didn’t come out for ages.

“She has been unhappy all week and made up her mind to go.

“Because of the new housemates going in, producers are allowing her to leave silently with no audience.”

A few days ago Women’s Institute member Lesley moaned about the “unacceptable” level of boredom in the house.

She added: “This is a good time to back out and let them get on with it.”

That's such a shame. I really did think she'd have a lot more to give, and I thought it was nice that an older person was there to join in, give her views etc. I know Carole's still there, but she's different to Lesley. I hope the Sun is just dwelling on things rather than giving actual facts.
We'll have to see. I think it may well upset the balance even more. She did seem as if things got to her easily, but I never saw her as a quitter.

I was checking the live feed to see if she is in the house at the moment. but with the repeats of last nights programs being the live feed is not available at the moment on Sky.

I hope she doesn't go. She does bring a lot to the house and has taken on the role of chief female well. She manages to get people to do what she wants in a assertive way without causing to many waves in the house. Watching her with with the younger girls is interesting to watch.

I think she might have gone during the catch-up shows on E4.

It's been a coming has it not.....I liked Lesly but at the same time I thought she gave very little to the house....Funny at times but mostly dull and not as strong a personality that she first appeared to be.....

I hope they replace her sooner rather than later.......A week is to long to wait.....The house needs more life.....It needs to be rid of Carole in particular who contributes absoloutly nothing in the way of entertainment....She is utterly boring boring boring.. :devil::bigsmile:

Emily didn't need replacing since one girl was going last night what ever happened last night since there was meant to be an eviction.

And if you read the article at the start of the thread they didn't know that Lesley was leaving until Friday afternoon yet they announced that two housemates were going in on Wednesday night.

So it would seem we still need a replacement for Lesley at some point.

I am sorry Lesley has gone. I would like to hear some of her conversation in the diary room. She does not act lightly and will have given her descision a great deal of thought.

I can totally sympathise with her difficulty though. She is an intelligent woman and to have been trapped with a lot of 'airheads' must have almost finished her sanity. No one can know what it will be like 'inside' andhow it will affect them untill they get there.

A spokesman for Channel 4 confirmed the 60-year-old walked out of the house at 9.15am.

The retired headhunter from Gloucestershire had complained she was bored after just hours in the house - and nearly quit earlier in the week.

After just a few days she told Big Brother: “I am more bored than is acceptable. I have better things to do.”

I turned on the Live Feed and noticed she wasn't there. Shame because she was a good housemate and i found her brilliant and interesting to watch. She provided the show with something we haven't seen in years and her witty one liners really made me laugh.

I was hoping she wouldn't walk but i think once she made up her mind there was no going back.

It's no surprise. I don't think she could have lived in that house much longer without causing some trouble. It's a shame, I would have liked to see her manipulation tactics pan out, she would have been a great contestant. I'd expect 'the incident' swayed her decision, somewhat.

Sorry, been at work today.. But channel 4 released this earlier today .. Just thought I'd post what the statement said. If it has already been posted I apologise immensely.. I just thought you may well like to read what the actual statement from channel 4 was :thumbs:

After a week of is she isn’t she, Lesley finally decided her time in the house was over and departed the Big Brother House at 09:10am on the morning after the arrival of two new housemates Gerry and Seány.

Lesley is the second Housemate to leave the house after Emily was removed early on Thursday morning.

Lesley bid goodbye to her housemates before coming to the Diary Room. On leaving the Big Brother House, Lesley said she was feeling "very sad" but added "It was nice, nice to say goodbye. I liked it."

When asked by Big Brother why she was feeling sad, Lesley replied "Well I made, not friendships, never got anywhere like that, but you know I've formed slight bonds with people and they were lovely and gracious". Through tears, Lesley said she would particularly miss Tracey. "I'll think about her with great affection... even though she wouldn't lend me that stripy top".

When asked her reasons for leaving, Lesley replied: "My reasons are I have been here ten days. I have, during that time, contributed and have felt able to do so. I feel that I contributed well, but my strength and energy in that department is running out.

Lesley said she "very much enjoyed" meeting the housemates. "Very much, without exception, very much enjoyed that. And I also enjoyed the challenge and the process ... of coping in a situation that was so alien to my nature".

Big Brother asked her if she had anything else to say. Lesley replied: "I would like to say thank you for the opportunity. It has been a wonderful opportunity - however short, in terms of the whole programme - I appreciate that. So thank you. I think I would like to say that I believe I could have won it or certainly been there towards the end ... I actually think one way or another I could have won it".

Big Brother asked "but you are choosing not to try to win it or be there toward the end?"

Lesley replied "Yes I am. Yes I have weighed it up."

Lesley then left the Big Brother house.

I can't say that I'll miss her, to be honest. Her sneering lack of respect for the rest of the hm's was becoming extremely grating. I don't think I've seen anyone as arrogant and aloof on tv for quite some time. Not since Derek on BB5, in fact. The way she spoke to the girls in the bedroom when they were packing Emily's things a few days ago was ridiculous. It was like watching a surreal Enid Blyton adaptation.

I liked Lesley. Nothing fake like the rest of them and said things to people's faces.

These days people only seem to be able to say things in groups and get people to back them up, like Grace, Charley, Pete 'fugly' Burns and Nicky or on internet forums like many here, but Lesley was able to do things correctly with no looking for support.

Disgusting thing to do to an old lady and making her feel so violated, she had to leave and have a shower.

But that is society today, no respect.
