Race row: Charley should go tooBIG Brother bitch Charley Uchea faced a backlash from fans last night.
Many believe she milked the race row to ensure Emily Parr was given her marching orders.
And they claim Charley should also be kicked out of the house because they have heard her use racist language towards other girls.
More than 5 million fans tuned in to watch the dramatic exit of the Bristol student in the early hours of Thursday, but were left fuming after watching partygirl Charley’s reaction.
Many believe the wannabe, a cousin of Manchester United star Kieran Richardson, 22, played up to the cameras in a desperate bid to get her blonde rival out.
Charley, 21, claimed she was not offended by Emily’s “ni**er” comment, but fans were furious as she appeared to pour more fuel on the fire, sparking a discussion in the bedroom but refusing to reveal what Emily, 19, had actually said.
She also admitted: “I’m here for the headlines. I’ve got so much money in the bank I don’t need to win.”
Fan sites were last night flooded with messages alleging Charley is guilty of racism too and should be evicted.
Big Brother is now looking into claims from viewers that she labelled Emily “chalky”, called Chanelle Hayes, 19, “white trash” and later told her to “paint your face black”.
A show insider said: “Of course producers take all allegations of racism seriously and will investigate the claims and take action if necessary.”
The Daily Star news desk has been inundated with angry messages from fans who claim Charley is not the innocent victim she has been made out to be.
One message read: “BB are being racist against Emily because she’s white.
She didn’t mean it in a bad way – the same as when Charley and Nicky said it.
“But it’s OK for them and not OK for Emily. – so who is the real racist?”
Fan John Bridges, 29, from Watford, reckons Charley used Emily’s comment to get ahead in the race for the top prize.
He said: “Charley told Emily she wasn’t offended but she saw her opportun-ity to grab the headlines and was very good playing the victim.”
Bookmakers have taken a flurry of bets from fans who now feel Charley is a firm favourite to win thanks to sympathy votes.
Ladbrokes cut her odds from 50-1 to 33-1.
Meanwhile Emily has been keeping a low profile. She was whisked away to a hotel in St Albans, Herts, where she was met by her family who made a quick dash from their home in Bristol to support her.
The drama student is said to be devastated by the chain of events and told pals she is determined to clear her name because she does not want to be forever known as a racist.

That's disgraceful. Any one who feels she milked it needs to justify why they think so. I have been in the exact same position Charley found herself in and I think she handled it superbly. In fact, I have relatives who would have taken Emily's head off before she even finished speaking.
Don't see why Charley should go, she was basically insulted and was rightfully upset and offended by it.

lol to the last comment, its true - she woulda been straight on the floor.
I don't understand how its now come about that Charley is the one to blame and emily is now the victim. Seriously, i just don't get it.

Depends though, if she really called Emily 'chalky' and Chanelle 'white trash' then she needs booting out right now.

Well, it's a term used against white people and it's insulting and derogatory...
I think I am more shocked at the comments I've heard on here and by the passages of media ppl have pasted more than the actually incident itself now.
I cannot believe how small minded and ignorant some ppl are and the lengths they will go to, to defend emily and criticise charley.
It disgusts me.

Yeah but IF that's true (IF IF IF) how can you defend Charley? I'm not defending either of them, they're both in the wrong, they both used the same word to describe Charley.

I suppose, seeing as it's the white equivalent to 'n*gger' (note 'n*gger rather than 'n*gga'). It's just on say Jerry Springer you hear 'white trash' all the time but never 'n*gger'.

Oh, so do you really think Charley was trying to offend herself or black people, do you really think there is a possibility that Charley holds prejudice views against herself and black people and that's why she used the N word.

firstly Chalky and White Trash ARE racist and offensive terms.....just like the N word.
so IFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF it's true then yes she should be taken out, and really she and Nikki should have been taken out for using the N word as well.
guess we'll have to wait and see if it's true.

oh yeah wasn't that after the GLC wannabe said he heard her name being chanted to get her out.....when it was actually his name they were chanting :D
I didn't see him say that too her, but she was moaning about it most of last night when I was watching it.....and that's what I understood had happened.....anyone know for sure?

GET CHARLEY OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I remember Charley using the "White Trash" term, 3 times actually. She should be booted out too, or else it is racist against Emily.
Both of them broke the rules, Both should be out.
I dont know where they are getting the idea that she might win, latest polls show she is the first to be voted out by the public as soon as they have the chance.
Did no one notice the crowed shouting "Get Charley Out" the other night?
I've never seen or heard her say anything like this before, surely there would be a lot of people on this forum saying so otherwise.
Sounds like the usual daily start rubbish, she's already said she's would not use racist words and seeing as her own mother is white it would be totally odd for her to use such terms as it would be offensive to her own mother.

Emily said “but I’ve heard people say it in here before”
Cahrley then said, “yea me, I say it all the time in here, but I can, because I am a N-word”
Those are her words not mind, as for the White Trash statement, it was heard, she said it to Chanelle twice and also said it talking about “white trash” people in general.
The “Chalky” one I never heard her say.

No her ACTUAL response was "No way..yeh, me, I'm a n*gga" there was no "i say it all the time in here, i can" which makes a big difference to ur argument.
Why make things up?
The difference with white trash is it is not generalising a whole race, it is like saying chav, you are not targeting the entire white community

Excuse me, but she did say it. It has been show 3 times already, I'm sure youcould find it on U-Tube too, Your looking for what Charley said after Emily said to her "yea but i've heard people in here say it before"
This is what was said -
Emily said: "yea but i've heard people in here say it before"
Charley said: "yea me, I say it all the time, but I can, because I am a N-Word"
Charley then said the word many more times. Now Big Brother's point was that the word is NOT to be said in ANY CONTEXT, so how come it is ok for Charley to say it?
As for calling people White Trash, I know many people who watch it and where offended, Big Brother says that should anthing be said that may offend a housemate or viewer, then it has to be delt with. Well this was never delt with.
It is double standards, Charley should be put out, just as Emily was.

We are experiencing the CBB5 effect once again:rolleyes:
Race row: Charley should go too
That's debatable
BIG Brother bitch Charley Uchea faced a backlash from fans last night.
Charley was not liked by many already
Many believe she milked the race row to ensure Emily Parr was given her marching orders.
Well, if that is what Charley or anyone else feels, then you are all wasting your time. BB have removed Emily, as she said the (N) word & that is that.
And they claim Charley should also be kicked out of the house because they have heard her use racist language towards other girls.
If she has, then why is she still in the BB house? The Camera's are everywhere & if a rule or rules have been broken, then they shall act upon that
More than 5 million fans tuned in to watch the dramatic exit of the Bristol student in the early hours of Thursday, but were left fuming after watching partygirl Charley’s reaction.
Fans of Emily will naturally be upset. But then, there is another group of people who will also find it unfair. "But Endemol showed it anyway:rolleyes: Kinda places money over Emily's welfare. Jade, Jo & Danielle once again. Accountibility at the top, once again:rolleyes:
Many believe the wannabe, a cousin of Manchester United star Kieran Richardson, 22, played up to the cameras in a desperate bid to get her blonde rival out.
So Emily is a rival, is she?? Perhaps Charley should think before she opens that mouth of her's and talks at 100mph, mostly absolute cr*p. She is giving some housemates a headache
Charley, 21, claimed she was not offended by Emily’s “ni**er” comment
Endemol are not interested in Charley. They are interested in haulting a possible Court-Case/Investigation if they don't do things right. Balancing money & risk, all in the same sentance
fans were furious as she appeared to pour more fuel on the fire, sparking a discussion in the bedroom but refusing to reveal what Emily, 19, had actually said.
That doesn't help matters. Who has the brains though??
She also admitted: “I’m here for the headlines. I’ve got so much money in the bank I don’t need to win.”
Shilpa & Jade have money. Didn't stop them, did it?
Fan sites were last night flooded with messages alleging Charley is guilty of racism too and should be evicted.
Best of all TIBB:bigsmile: Daily Star could have mentioned this site:sad:
Big Brother is now looking into claims from viewers that she labelled Emily “chalky”, called Chanelle Hayes, 19, “white trash” and later told her to “paint your face black”.
The rules should apply to those remarks too. This is very hard to understand, as everyone should be treated equally & a racist comment against a white housemate from a non-white housemate should be treated the same. But as Jermaine Jackson's comment was treated so lightly and other words & comments which may have been construed to some as containing possible racial overtones were blown out of all proportion in CBB5 against three decent girls, it's hard to say what is actually fair anymore:rolleyes:
A show insider said: “Of course producers take all allegations of racism seriously and will investigate the claims and take action if necessary.”
That is so politically correct & of course, they shall do anything to help those who have complained, as and when they are ready. But they will have to work out a plausable and legal response, and that may take time and they shall have to check with their solicitors first,:sleep::sleep:
The Daily Star news desk has been inundated with angry messages from fans who claim Charley is not the innocent victim she has been made out to be.
The Daily Star always get's messages, but this is a big thing & that is understandable
One message read: “BB are being racist against Emily because she’s white.
Emily said the (N) word. That is why she has been thrown out
She didn’t mean it in a bad way – the same as when Charley and Nicky said it.
Very sad to hear:sleep::sleep: Endemol have made serious errors last time. Accountibility, once again. The mistakes from before, cannot be made again & as Emily said the (N) word, they were forced to act upon that
“But it’s OK for them and not OK for Emily. – so who is the real racist?”
None of them are Racist, (that is simple to work out) The (N) word was said.....Let's leave it at that & not dwell & accuse someone in a wrong & unjust way
Fan John Bridges, 29, from Watford, reckons Charley used Emily’s comment to get ahead in the race for the top prize.
Charley is going to be evicted. Everyone on TIBB must have worked that out by now. If Charley hasn't worked out already that she is going to lose, then she is very thick or suffers from "A Superiority Complex/Egomania"
He said: “Charley told Emily she wasn’t offended but she saw her opportun-ity to grab the headlines and was very good playing the victim.”
Emily said the (N) word & Charley had worked out that it was a mistake. Anything which happened beyond that, was upto Charley really... Emily was out-of-the-door, the second after she said it
Bookmakers have taken a flurry of bets from fans who now feel Charley is a firm favourite to win thanks to sympathy votes.
Ladbrokes cut her odds from 50-1 to 33-1.
I don't think we can worry about "Sympathy" here. Charley is no Shilpa Shettty. Shilpa is much more clever:rolleyes:
Meanwhile Emily has been keeping a low profile. She was whisked away to a hotel in St Albans, Herts, where she was met by her family who made a quick dash from their home in Bristol to support her.
Emily will need some time to sort herself out. One wrong move now could ruin her life. I hope she has the right help at this moment:angel:
The drama student is said to be devastated by the chain of events and told pals she is determined to clear her name because she does not want to be forever known as a racist.
Remember CBB5 & look at Danielle Lloyd. Some attractive women can rule you'know:laugh: But is Emily (Danielle Lloyd) or is she going to be attacked like Jade & Jo were. Like I said, (Right Help:angel:)

Endemol are not interested in anyone else but Emily and that is the person who has been chucked out.

Yes!! But Emily said it first & those who rule can do as they please. Endemol are well aware of the law and have acted upon Emily's mistake in that moment.

Are you refering to something from the Live-Feed?

No I'm reffering to the fact that Charley clearly says "No way.......Yeah me I am A N"
(after Emily saying "I've heard other people say it in here" note she said "IN HERE")
if that is not true then why did she admit to saying it?
I thought we all dropped this discussion anyway?

If Charley is caling herself the (N) word, then she is offending herself.
But if she is not bothered about the word, then what about those watching the BB show??
But it was aired anyway?? That's pretty bad, isn't it?? I just can't work that out in my mind actually.
Endemol have made their decision & Emily is out & Charley stays in.
You are right, we have debated this:thumbs:

But even look at her response after Emily said the N-Word.
If you are talking about when they are in the garden talking about it, just after it was said then this is what was said:
Emily actually says "someones already used that word in this house"
Charley then says "No way, yeah me, I'm a ******, I am one"
If you look on the youtube clip what I am referring to is what's said at the time 00:36.
Unless they have the same discussion again, you're misunderstood.

I have to confess I have heard Charley call others white trash - now it isnt about the words it is about the meaning behind them.
BB need to set standards and stick to them. I personally would be deeply offended if I was called white trash by someone. I find it offensive on every level.

that's all I was saying, if the word is offensive enough to have one housemate turfed out, then it really should be enough to turf the others out to, Charley isn't the be all and end al of the argument, as was stated by BB, "any racist remarks that may offend housemates or viewers will not be tolerated" (or something along those lines) which a lot of people were glossing over.
at least you know what I mean now
the problem with airing it, and not airing it, is that it would have made it sound worse if it was bleeped out......some people find that if a word is bleeped out it must be worse than it actually is, I do actually agree with their decision to show it unedited, they wouldn't bleep it out of a film or a stand up show.
and yes it's been debated to death, a lot of the same arguments going round and round. :thumbs2:

I agree that a racist remark against a white housemate should be taken, just as seriously.
I also agree that Charley isn't above any rule in BB
But Endemol follow protocol & they looked at Emily & threw her out. There have been plenty of complaints about that decision, but Endemol haven't much time for listening.
I have to say that showing the un-cut footage with the (N) word in-tact is disgraceful & as they made such a song & dance regarding CBB5, with Jade, Jo & Danielle, it is sickening.
What is worse, Emily or the CBB5 incident?
The (N) word is a Racist word.
But in CBB5, there was no Racist word & what little they had was ridiculous.

The CBB5 incident was much worse, no I agree the "Racist" word was used way too much, but, add the "popadom" remark to just how bad the three girls were towards Shilpa and that was why people were complaining, And I agreed, I was saying to people that Channel 4 should have stepped in much earlier, not just let it get out of control the way it did.
Obviously you like Jade, I'm not going to tell you not to, I really don't, and never have, especially after seeing the way she was in "Back To Reality" on channel 5against Josie D'Arby (sp?) again not in a racist way.....but it just shows that she has to be the bully of the bunch, I also heard that she was the same in BB3 (was it that one?) where she bullied another housemate....(I don't know if that was true or not, but as I've seen the other incidents.....)
and of course the comments from the other 2 girls, acting as a gang, on one person is not something people want to see on the TV. and BB could have dealt with it much earlier......
they dealt with it early this time.....unfortunately I feel they have just gotten it wrong again. like I've said many times before punishing one person and letting the others slide is just wrong and makes the wrong statement.

A bit late with my reply, but here goes

The CBB5 incident was much worse
It became a massive furore, especially with fanatics burning effigies in India & Gordon Brown sticking his nose in & the media blowing it all out of proportion & BB continually sticking with that theme of (Possible racial overtones) & (Highlighting bullying) It was a new shock to some, hense the thousands of complaints at that time.
I agree the "Racist" word was used way too much, but, add the "popadom" remark to just how bad the three girls were towards Shilpa and that was why people were complaining, And I agreed, I was saying to people that Channel 4 should have stepped in much earlier, not just let it get out of control the way it did.
What Emily said was a racist word, (N) word. What Jade, Jo & Danielle did was more about "not clicking" Three girl's with the same opinion of Shilpa Shetty.
Channel 4 trusted Endemol, but they know better today:rolleyes:
Obviously you like Jade, I'm not going to tell you not to
More of a sympathiser to herself and others who are in a similar situation, where unfairness & corruption is in play. Money is usually the "reason", but hey, we all know that part:rolleyes:
I really don't, and never have, especially after seeing the way she was in "Back To Reality" on channel 5against Josie D'Arby (sp?) again not in a racist way.....but it just shows that she has to be the bully of the bunch
Giving the viewers what they want. Jade Goody has become a No.1 success story, for just being herself. Why act differently? It is just what her fans expect. Playing to the cameras
I also heard that she was the same in BB3 (was it that one?) where she bullied another housemate....(I don't know if that was true or not, but as I've seen the other incidents.....)
All of these incidents involved more-than-herself. She may be the voice-box, but the evidence is on Youtube.com & she had others who agreed with her opinion. Like I said, she knows what her fans & fans of the shows want
of course the comments from the other 2 girls, acting as a gang, on one person is not something people want to see on the TV.
I have to disagree, it is exactly what viewers want. Trouble & Controversy makes viewers watch.
Even the non-fans
BB could have dealt with it much earlier......
That would cost them money, not so attractive to them:rolleyes:
they dealt with it early this time.....
Ofcomwas watching & the Police too. Channel 4 got away with the past furore, just by making three apologies. If they did it again, it would be a hefty fine & certain resignations:wink:
Andy Duncan likes his job:wink:
unfortunately I feel they have just gotten it wrong again. like I've said many times before punishing one person and letting the others slide is just wrong and makes the wrong statement.
Endemol will have their reasons, (Fair-or-not), Emily got thrown out, Charley has stayed in.
If you reallly want a full explaination, e-mail Endemol, Channel 4 or Ofcom & you will get a standard politically correct reply in a (Politician) style of writing, probably telling you nothing......What's new:rolleyes:

Everyone here has spoken of Charley saying "White Trash" but I for one have not heard this said so I can speak of her without that tainted brush.
After watching Emilygate again it is quite easy to see that the girl used and said the word in a derogatory sense to demean Charley. She would not have said that to a white friend for instance contrary to how many times she says she said it in the past to her friends.
That argument is over thank goodness but I wanted to say something as viewing the you tube clip has helped me to analyse how I feel.
I would like to know or has anyone got any evidence, clips of Charley using unappropriate language for example. Because if that is the case then she is guilty as charged. If not, there is no basis for an argument here?

So you are saying that because YOU did not see or hear it that it didnt happen and can not be debated? hmm I dont think so, I heard her call Chanelle it, and IMO it is racist and she should be given the same treatment that Emily was given.
When did she call Chanelle white trash?
