Inspired by Nickys Commercial Thread.
For me yes. It would do away with the licence fee which I resent paying as I mostly watch ITV or listen to music on the radio. Smooth FM.
If they wanted to make even more money they could have product placement, although that can be annoying.

I'd err on the side of "no". As they don't use advertising, they're not beholden to viewing figures, therefore things are less likely to be cancelled when no-one watches. This allows them to make specialist programming and as long as the Audience Appreciation Index is high enough, low viewers won't damn it.

Yes.
Get rid of that dinosaur tax of a licence.
Absolutely, everywhere else has them.
It's time the BBC was really dragged into the 21st century.

I would say leave it, it’s good to have one advert free station, we pay practically the same amount for Netflix and Sky charges are through the roof plus we still have to watch adverts so in my view the BBC offer the best value out of the 3 with more channels and content plus radio
The BBC has not been an impartial broadcaster for a long time, so I think it should be scrapped in it's entirety or self funded

I'd rather they have ads than the TV license but when it comes right down to it, I personally feel that we're moving away from both to subscription-model On Demand television anyway.
For the BBC as it is currently, I personally think a great model would be to have advertising on live TV and a subscription (£5.99/month seems reasonable - HALF of the TV licence cost) for ad-free iPlayer access. They could then also roll out iPlayer internationally with the subscription.

Sky charges seem unreasonable until you consider that everyone pretty much needs high speed broadband these days anyway. We got rid of Sky TV for ages because we moved to a little backwater where only BT had fast broadband (ADSL2+, 18mb) and sky could only offer 4mb :umm2:.
There's no way I'd pay for just sky TV. But when we finally got Dragged into the modern era and the village got fibre optic, it actually worked out only about £5 a month more for Sky TV / Broadband / Line rental than it was for BT Broadband. So a fiver a month for Sky TV doesn't seem that bad.
That said, we still very rarely watch live TV. I'd still always stream or download TV series, e.g. we still tend to watch BBC on iPlayer rather than recording on SkyQ. We pretty much only watch reality TV trash on Sky :joker:.

Eh I think it is - I see both sides of politics whinging that the other side is being given preference.
